As we discovered last month, Elevation Burger empowers customers to make better food choices, and also empowers the community through locally sourcing its ingredients. We love the convenience that the Al-Seif branch offers: It’s open 24 hours, and you can dine-in or get your food to go. One thing that is recognized is that it’s never really healthy to simply eat and run, so Elevation Burger is also empowering customers to savor their meals. This area has now been turned into a welcoming space. You sincerely want to sit down here with friends or even by yourself. Relax, take some time over your food, enjoy the atmosphere. To help with this there has been a program of activities planned on the site with artists, singers, musicians and other entertainment. In doing so, Elevation Burger Al-Seif has become a bustling community hub to witness and experience.
For those of you who have yet to discover it, as soon as you arrive you are greeted by the amusing sight of old-fashioned bicycles parked up in the corner. Overlooking this area is beautiful artwork by popular local talented artist Bruha Eve (Instagram @bruhaeveartworld) instructing you to “Grab Your Bike” encouraging both exercise and better food choices with Elevation Burger.
As well as visual artists, local groups are supported whose sole purpose is to educate and celebrate the local community. Elevation Burger is very open to lending out the space and they generously share the beautiful Al-Seif location’s space with initiatives and creative performers for Saturday Brunch and evening events. Past performances at Elevation Burger Al-Seif include Rain (Instagram @ghxrainofficial) and Mahmoud Kamel (Instagram @7oudster), amongst many other talented acts.
Recently bringing their talents with them has been local initiative ‘The Botanical Kid’ (Instagram @Goldencatcherskw)—a group dedicated to providing educational, fun activities for kids. Under the banner of “Plant a Life” children were given ample opportunity and space to decorate and swirl paint all over their chosen plant pot. They were then carefully shown how to pack the pot with the supplied earth and shown how to scatter or bury and water the seeds to have the greatest chance of seeing the seeds sprout and grow. In doing so, children can understand from the very beginning how to grow a flower or a vegetable from a seed, and learn how to take care of it. In the future, these children have gained the proper tools to fully appreciate what it takes to source organic produce the same way that Elevation Burger carefully does. This also ensures that every Elevation offering is a better food option that both children and parents can trust.
Organic breakfast is served between 4 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekends so you are guaranteed to be able to catch a breakfast/brunch serving if you are coming to a weekend event at the Al-Seif Elevation Burger. The community garden is the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy some local talent, many who may not have had a chance to perform elsewhere before. It is also completely free to attend any of the events at Elevation Burger Al-Seif! As for the yummy breakfast options on offer, you can still create your own breakfast bun or bowl according to your liking, while also sampling their newest addition of guacamole and organic egg whites to lighten up your breakfast even more!
Amin Abdal (Instagram @xxmrfarixx) is a local musician who has reaped the benefit of searching out venues, events and gigs to play at, and today he’s helping other local acts by booking them for performances at the Al-Seif location. “I’ve been involved with booking acts before, but I was given a lot of freedom to design the program for Elevation Burger’s Al-Seif location. This was really important because very different performers can come and play. The kinds of performances you’ll see include some classic covers but the artists are really encouraged to perform original pieces as well. What’s happened is this has become an organic hub for singers, a diwaniya of sorts.” Amin has booked a wide variety of bands for this spot, from newcomers before a crowd to the more seasoned performers such as Yousif Yaseen (Instagram @bu_yaseen) whose album Visions is out now. When asked about the Al-Seif performance area Yousif said, “It’s a step forward for public performances in Kuwait and great to see the independent music scene thriving in Kuwait.”
The chance to perform with such a small crowd really allows both the performer and the audience to relate to one another. This way, audiences can form an even greater appreciation for the work that goes into performing! Performers have to remember the words and music, make sure the amplifier, speakers and mics don’t create feedback, wear enough layers for a cool evening in Kuwait to keep warm, but not too warm, stay hydrated throughout and keep eye contact with the crowd! All of these are necessary elements to make for a successful show, and these are elements that Elevation Burger Kuwait want to shed light on—just like their perfectly curated organic breakfast menu.
Trying something new is what singer songwriter and producer Fabrice (Instagram @fabriceroots) says the space is good for and he did so for his new Back to Roots album. “It’s a smaller crowd so you feel safe to try out new things, new songs. You can gauge the audience’s reaction better and it feels so positive and supportive.”
Elevation Burger customers also love this location. While the space has physically existed here for years, it has never been such a buzzing hive of activity, and today it arrives as a real community area. The space is accessible to everyone, from teenagers to families, who gather to appreciate all the great talents Kuwait has to offer. Witnessing people express themselves creatively is exciting, as these talents mark Kuwait’s new generation—it is a generation that is open to new experiences. The growth, and development of this creative scene is truly organic, with the empowering support of Elevation Burger Kuwait.
