Are you ready for this year’s premiere foodie event? We sure are! We at bazaar have been anticipating the Taste of Q8’s second annual premier dining event, and we’re so excited that there’s one month left to go for a food filled weekend! There’s a lot to look forward to, from tastings to meetings and music, 2016’s the Taste of Q8 is promising to be a fun filled day for the whole family, with features that are sure to please attendees of all ages!
The event’s basic admission ticket offers hands-on activities where you’ll be able to participate in a demo, and bake or cook something with a professional Chef. This year’s food-star studded lineup includes the amazing Reza Mahammad and Jenny Morris from Food Network, two French Pastry Chefs, Master Chef Eric Lanlard (author of five cook books and star of TV’s Baking Mad and Glamour Puds), FameCo’s Executive Pastry Chef David Cadoret, and of course, the world renowned Chef Ian Kitichai and local musical and culinary legend Suliman Al Qassar. There will be a Celebrity Chef presentation every half hour throughout the festival between the Cooking School and the Chef Demo Stage, and Cooking demos will be ongoing throughout the festival every hour for up to 10 participants at a time.
The fair will also have a mouth-watering selections of local beloved restaurants such as Radisson Blu’s Peacock and Al Boom, Regency’s Balsamico, La Brasa Argentinian Steakhouse, gourmet Pizzeria Amami, the famous Alfredo’s Gallery, and many more.
If you’re also interested in tackling as many noms as you can, you’ll be able to sample culinary tastes from a variety of Kuwait based cooks and caterers, who will be showcasing their unique cuisine in the Grand Tasting Pavilion. To all those small business chefs and caterers out there, this is your chance to shine! Visit their website to submit an application to win a free spot along with the registered greats of Kuwait! To complete the experience, the Taste of Q8 will include a classic Farmer’s Market where you’ll be able to stroll through and check out local goodies by independent businesses. Let’s not pretend that this hasn’t become a long-loved hobby of ours, and in March, the weather will still be ideal for some weekend outdoor browsing.
For those who enjoy good tunes with good food, live music will be playing at the Taste of Q8, in a scenic setting overlooking the Marina Crescent. The event also encourages local acts to submit their music to win a spot on stage during the three-day event by applying online.
Concerned about the kids? You don’t need to leave them at home to enjoy this delicious outing, or worry about them being bored while you spend a day sampling all the yummy food. Bring the children to enjoy the Kid’s Zone feature, sponsored by Frost Gelato, where they can enjoy a kid-centric aspect of the festival, and feast on yummy treats! On top of that, children aged 12 and under get in free!
So whether you’re a foodie, a critic, a chef or someone who just loves to eat – which let’s face it, is most of us—mark your calendars for March 17, 18 & 19th.
General Admission day tickets are KD 3 for adults (ages 13 and up), Weekend Passes for all three days General Admission are KD 6. For those who want to get up close and personal with the chefs, the single day Meet & Greet tickets are KD 20, but you could opt for the Multi Day Meet and Greet for KD 40 for the ultimate indulgence. Psst! If you purchase any Meet & Greet ticket, you’ll have access to the festival’s Hospitality Suite where you’ll get to meet the chefs, get a cookbook signed, and obviously, take a selfie with them. Also included in either Meet & Greet package is a goody bag, apron and cookbook.
