Video might have killed the radio star, but the radio-star has been reincarnated as the podcaster. According to this Digital News Report , 34% of the global population listens to podcasts. And Apple have reported that they hit 50 billion episode downloads this year. That’s not even counting episodes that are hosted on other services and apps.
Since their introduction in 2005, it has become increasingly easy to access them. Most of us download and listen to Podcasts on our phones. It used to be harder, you had to download to iTunes then sync to your iPod. With bigger storage space on our devices and better internet, it is just so much easier.
And while we love YouTube and catching up with our favorite vloggers, our eyes really appreciate the break from having to look at a screen and we are free to do other things. You can listen while working out, baking cookies or doing stuff around the house. And our commutes are improved when we listen in the car.
There are some pretty cool and creative locals who have created very interesting shows. Although some of them have podfaded like Deera Chat, probably Kuwait’s first podcast. We have already featured podcasts like Millenial Mirros and Go Social Smart on bazaar but we wanted to add some more to your list of shows.
Unless otherwise stated, all you have to do to listen to the podcasts is search for their name in your favorite podcast app. Almost all phones come with a default one and if you don’t have one there are a lot of great free ones on the Apple App store and the Google Store.
This one is hilarious and while it is a video podcast you don’t really need to watch it. But you should, at least once, to check out their very quirky and adorable “recording studio”.
Lucky Generation Gamers
This is a bunch of friends who love playing video games. Reviews, opinions, ideas and everything a gamer would ever want to talk about or listen to.
We love a quick episode and at five to ten minutes these are basically soundbites of advice, motivation and inspiration for better health. The podcast has a book companion too. Their philosophy is that food should be enjoyable, and by making better choices you totally can.
Piece of Mind
A recent project by our very own George Tarabay is Piece of Mind. The light conversational tone makes us feel like we’re in his living room with a friend.
Listen here or search for Piece of Mind Podcast on your favorite podcast app.
The last one is not technically a podcast, but a podcast app. It is a Belong Co-working Studio production. And they have an interesting and relevant lineup of shows, so definitely check it out. Just search Belong Studio on your App Store. The content spans self-improvement and entrepreneurial advice, so definitely give it a go.
