There are people out there who just embody creativity, innovativeness, and a lot of personality. Lovely entrepreneur Tamara Hayat, creator of all things tiny with her Teaspoons – a collection of exquisitely detailed, handmade replicas of dishes, desserts and beverages, is the embodiment of all three qualities. “It was completely random!” Tamara says when asked about the birth of her Teaspoons. “When I was living abroad for university, I’d pass the time by molding clay models of desserts and food. They started off simple then became so detailed, I found myself making plates such as Steak Frites, Tacos, and Sushi!”
With charms so innovative and adorable, people love the idea of having such personal accessories to wear as necklaces, bracelets, earrings, or key rings and car charms. With a British and Kuwaiti upbringing that exudes hospitality, this miniscule molder also finds the time to accommodate the children at Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice with her role as Activity Coordinator, lifting their spirits with her cheery personality and talents. For the month of December, (which also happens to be her birth month!) bazaar has chosen to recognize this wonderful woman by gifting her with our Truth or Dare profile! Kuwait, meet Tamara Hayat, who would rather be dared, but is down to earth when it comes to telling the truth.
How would your mother describe you in one word?
How would you describe your mother in one word?
What is the most ridiculous question you’ve ever been asked?
“Are you a dog person or a cat person?” It’s like apples and oranges, why must one choose?
What is the most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done?
Adopt my cat.
What is your theme song?
“Float On” by Modest Mouse, or “What A Feeling” (Flashdance) by Irene Cara.
What word in the English or Arabic language do you wish you had invented?
“Compartmentalization” Something I believe, once mastered, can give you peace of mind.
Where would you like to live? What is your dream retirement location?
Somewhere I can easily access the forest, greenery and wildlife.
What is the first famous quote that comes to your mind?
“Resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.” – Carrie Fisher
What animal best describes the kind of partner you’d be interested in?
A Killer Whale (Orca). Supportive in a group and contributes to society as a whole, but also has their own individual unique personality.
What do you miss about your childhood?
Outdoor arts and craft sessions in the garden where we used to make “cakes” out of my mother’s homemade play-do, and choreographing dances with my cousins to Spice Girls and B*Witched.

Anastasia Beaverhausen. (I’m just kidding, I wouldn’t change it).
How would you describe your handshake in one word?
Assertively, friendly and welcoming.
What is the toughest part of your character?
I like my space, but sometimes it comes off as me being avoidant.
Who is your favorite historical figure?
There are too many to choose from. I have always admired the works of ancient philosophers. Aristotle, for instance, because of what he says about art; it’s not about copying or ‘imitating’ nature, and calling yourself an artist, but about idealizing it in its manifestation.
What in the world do you least desire?
The idea of being excessively self-indulgent. Or mushy peas. (A part of the English stereotype I do not fall under.)
What do you think is lacking in the world, which if there was more of would make the world a better place?
I would say awareness, but unfortunately it is not enough for the world to know what’s going on in order to do something about it. We need more empathy and compassion to ignite us and move us forward.
Why do you think most girls/guys like you?
Finish this sentence: “Happiness is a thing called…”
