H&M, the iconic Swedish brand, is proud to announce that it has marked its 15th anniversary of entry into the Middle East, starting with its first store in the UAE at Mall of the Emirates, followed by entry to Kuwait at The Marina Mall, in September 2006. Since launch into the region by its Middle East partner Alshaya Group, H&M has quickly and confidently expanded into 11 markets – opening its 100th store at Cairo Festival City in 2014, launching online in 2018 and opening the biggest H&M store in the world in 2019, at The Avenues, Kuwait.
H&M has seen a series of fantastic collaborations with guest designers over the last 15 years – delighting its customers with some of the worlds most loved brands, including Versace, Balmain (which sold out on its launch day), Kenzo, Moschino and more. Leading the change for sustainability in fashion, H&M most recently launched its most sustainable women’s spring collection ever, made from more than 65% recycled, organic and more sustainably sourced material. Customers can also recycle at H&M – dropping their unwanted clothing and textiles of any type, into H&M garment collection boxes – available in selected stores.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 15th year in the Middle East, having inspired and served millions of customers throughout our expansion journey, and creating a fashionable arena for customers seeking quality, value and sustainability. We have come a long way with respect to our collection offerings – nowadays meeting our customers’ expectations through stronger, more locally resonating campaigns that nod to the region’s culturally rich heritage– including our ever popular, Ramadan collections”.
