The company “eighty percent” is hosting the fourth consecutive Women’s Football Tournament at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium. The event provides female footballers with equal opportunities in professionally organized sports. And this year, it’s bigger and better.
In a collaboration with the Kuwait Football Association (KFA) and support by LaLiga, registration is open to any GCC or regional team.
The Women’s Football Tournament has been instrumental for providing female soccer players a platform for competing and improving their skills. It has also served as an inspiration for private and public organizations to actively contribute to women’s football in Kuwait and the GCC.
The Women’s Football Tournament is the brainchild of eighty percent sports company which is socially driven and aims to create unique sporting experiences that elevate the human condition and empower a new generation of athletes.
By creating a professional brand under which the best female talents in football compete and shine, eighty percent and partners are directly empowering women in and outside of the football pitch.
This year the tournament will be hosted at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Ardiya, from the 12th to the 23rd of May. Over 16 teams will be competing and each team consists of 12 players, 7 serving as starters and the remaining 5 as substitutes. The 40-minute matches take place every other day.
This year Malaga CF and Liga Iberdrola player, Adriana Martin is scheduled to host an exclusive workshop. Players can improve their game and learn from the Spanish pro athlete.
Although, the greatest reward of playing is the game itself, the top three teams will be awarded with medals, trophies, and monetary prizes. Individual achievements like top scorer and best goal keeper will also win special prizes.
