Rooting for the underdog is part of our ethos at bazaar, which might explain why we think it is a cool holiday for what it symbolizes. A celebration of Mexican heritage.
In the ’60s, it was adopted by the Californians and crossed over to the rest of the United States. Today, it is all about parades, parties and fun.

And while Mexico did give us Frida Kahlo, many other artists hail from that side of the Pacific.
We are totally in love with the “Wings of Mexico” sculpture that has been on loan to the Museum of Modern Art in Kuwait, which has just left the country. The golden bronze wings were created by Jorge Marin and are traveling all over the world. Breathtakingly majestic yet so simple.
We are sad to see them go, but we hope to see more Mexican artists in Kuwait.
