The t-Lounge provides a luxurious environment for any occasion, so those looking to socialize or those wishing for quiet company can find a relaxing spot in this classy lounge. There are soft couches, cozy loveseats, and plush chairs to sink in to as you sip your tea. The walls are lined with brightly-colored boxes of gourmet teas, and they have a sample display of every single box. It was impressive to see the long row of shiny bowls filled with tea. You can see what each blend looks like when brewed, so you can choose a tea that perfectly complements you.
If you decide to order one of their hot teas, they will come piping hot and served with fascinating sand hourglasses. These hourglasses let you know the brewing time of different types of tea based on what you desire, to ensure maximum flavor and quality. So if you desire a light or very strong brew, you can simply watch the hourglass until it reaches a level that satisfies your tastes.
As a longtime tea lover, I was excited to try their exclusive cold tea mocktails. There are many crafted drinks to choose from, each featuring different tea blends mixed with fresh fruit, aromatic spices, sweet syrups, and even dried flowers. All of their cold tea drinks are brewed to order, so each one arrives fresh and flavorful. My first drink was the Mandarin Mojito, which was a delightful mocktail featuring bright burst of oranges infused with black Mediterranean Mandarin tea. It was a pleasantly sweet drink with a refreshing mint aftertaste.
I then tried the Strawberry Lapsang Souchong, which had a very rare tea called The First Ceylon Souchong. The tealeaves are lightly set aflame on cinnamon wood, which results in an intensely rich, smoky flavor. It was paired with the subtly sweet acidity of fresh strawberries. I was an instant lover of this unique mixture. I also thoroughly enjoyed the Chilled Cinnamon Tea, which had the spicy sweetness of black Cinnamon tea, enhanced by orange juice and a cinnamon stick. The Supreme Fun was a powerful blast of coconut and orange juice mixed with black Supreme Ceylon tea. For Arabic coffee lovers, Dilmah’s latest Arabic Coffee provides a traditional Kuwaiti recipe with a pleasant smell of cardamom.
Even though the t-Lounge is popular for its gourmet teas, they also offer a large selection of scrumptious snacks. Besides unique hot and cold tea drinks, the t-Lounge has cakes, pies, sandwiches, and crepes. I tried a fresh crepe that was light and filled with warm Nutella. It was gently dusted with powdered sugar and served with a scoop of vanilla Haagen-Dazs ice cream. I also tried the Qrs Ogaili, a warm little saffron and sesame seed cake atop a hot pudding, and topped with a dollop of ice cream. The varying temperatures and textures of this dessert made for a very comforting dish.
I was impressed by the variety of options at t-Lounge. Even as a lifelong tea lover, I didn’t expect that the tea plant could be transformed into such a wide variety of tastes.
