We were already excited about the opening of the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre in Shaab. But this video kicked it up a couple of notches. The Centre, considered to be one of the largest cultural spaces in the world, was inaugurated earlier this year but is set to open to the public on the March 14.

The video takes us along as a little girl explores the four museums that are part of the center. Science, Space, Natural History and Arabic Islamic Science museums are part of the six-building complex. The other two buildings house the theater and a fine arts center.

We might be a little older (OK, fine a lot!) than the little girl. But our sense of wonder and curiosity has been tickled and we can’t wait to visit!

Named after one of Kuwait’s inspirational founding fathers, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Centre was developed by Al Diwan Al-Amiri with the vision of delivering world class exhibitions and public educational programmes to facilitate knowledge transfer and encourage independent, research-based and collaborative learning.

It consists of a Natural History Museum, Science and Technology museum, Arabic Islamic Science Museum, Space Museum, a Fine arts Centre and a Theatre.

The museums house a total of 22 galleries with over 1100 exhibits, many of which include replicas of rare artifacts.
