With many people opting to order in, food delivery riders undoubtedly played a vital role in keeping our cities moving and our favorite local restaurants running. To thank delivery riders for their continuous support during the most difficult times of the pandemic, Deliveroo Kuwait partnered with Starbucks to extend a well-deserved treat to riders.
After the successful launch of “Abtal Deliveroo” in the UAE, Deliveroo Kuwait has now partnered with Starbucks on their latest “Abtal Deliveroo” initiative. The initiative was launched as a thank you gesture for Deliveroo riders who, in the last few months, have played a key role in keeping the city fed, healthy and moving.
On Friday Nov. 6th, Deliveroo riders were able to pick up a free Starbucks drink from participating branches across Kuwait. Riders had their pick between customer favorites like Mixed Berry Shaken Iced Tea, Mango Passion Fruit Shaken Iced Tea, Mixed Berry Blend, and Mango Passion Fruit Blend.
The partnership with Starbucks is the first of many planned by Deliveroo to extend an extra special “thank you” to riders for their exceptional work throughout the year. Deliveroo also provides resting areas for riders that are open to delivery professionals from all local delivery companies and has also made seasonal additions to rider kits with items like insulated water bottles and protective gloves to ensure that the next few months provide necessary comfort to riders.
Additionally, Deliveroo offers ongoing training opportunities and safety sessions to riders throughout the year. Early this year, riders were trained in COVID-19 prevention methods, with the company launching a contactless delivery feature to give customers, riders and restaurants the confidence they need to order safely. In the interest of safety, riders were trained to place their thermal bags open on the ground outside customers’ doors, step back at least one meter, and wait nearby for customers to collect the food before the order can be completed.

Deliveroo encourages customers to offer riders a bottle of water with each delivery.
