We all have a Amiti Noura in our lives. She’s usually your favorite auntie who makes the best food, and makes sure that your favorite dish is always on the table when you come over for a visit. Located at The Avenues, a visit to Amiti Noura is like being invited to your Aunt’s home and a visit to the restaurant is like being invited to your family home and being pampered and overfed by your favorite auntie.
She wouldn’t dream of letting you leave the table before you have tasted everything and had seconds (and sometimes even thirds). And while we do love doing this, we sometimes want something lighter, and as usual, Amiti Noura is happy to oblige your every craving.
For a limited time only you can now get just that at Amiti Noura. The restaurant has just launched a new and specially designed menu full of flavorful dishes that will satisfy your craving and leave you feeling happy, satisfied and full but still light on your feet so you can enjoy the rest of your day. This menu is perfect after a shopping marathon at The Avenues, when you’re in the mood to nibble with family and simply want to share your favorite bites with your loved ones.
We love that they added soup to the menu, because we feel it is often underappreciated as a concept. The creamy chicken soup is flavored with whole spices that will warm your soul and belly and will set the mood for the meal to come.
Two more appetizers have been added with sharing in mind: Laham Bi‘ajeen, a homemade dough topped with minced lamb meat, sumac and pomegranate seeds and the Hot Mezze Platter which is perfect if you’re in the mood for trying out lots of different items. They have loaded the plate with a selection of their favorites; cheese and vegetable sambusa, meat and potato kubbah with khobz eroug.
Now that you’ve had your fill of starters, it is time to get cozy with the main dishes. There is the shredded chicken with mashed potatoes and mushrooms in a creamy white sauce enriched with cheddar and mozzarella cheese, baked to perfection. Or you could go down the classic but always flavorful route and order a Shish Taouk made from marinated chicken grilled skewers served with fries and garlic sauce.
Keep the meal even lighter by ordering the Grilled Shrimp marinated with dill and coriander and served with fries and garlic sauce. If you are looking for a dish that is perfect for sharing, look no further than the Mixed Grill Platter. A selection of lamb chops, lamb kabab and shish taouk served with fries and garlic sauce, ideal for sharing. And you must order at least one serving of the Sumac Fries (we suggest more than one). It is always a hit with guests since the fries are dusted with the unexpected but delicious combination of sumac and herb oil.
There’s also a Kid’s Menu, so the little ones can join the fun too and won’t feel left out. They have three options to choose from; Chicken Nuggets, Mac & Cheese and our favorite the Macaroni Bolognaise. The latter has a special Amiti Noura twist; it is macaroni with minced lamb meat, tomatoes and Arabic spices, topped with
Parmesan cheese. Which is the perfect way to introduce a picky eater to local dishes and flavors without overwhelming their sensitive taste buds. All the kids dishes are served with orange juice or lemonade, so they will be getting a boost of vitamin C too.
The best thing about a light meal, is that there is always more room left for dessert. And who can resist a Brownie A La Mode? A classic chocolate brownie topped with a scoop of scrumptious vanilla ice-cream. But the real pièce de résistance is the Om Ali. The classic dessert has been given an upgrade – puff pastry baked with flavored milk, raisins, hazelnuts and pistachios to end your meal on the highest of notes.
Amiti Noura is one of those magical places. It is cozy and welcoming and always feels familiar. It is like going home every time and we’re happy that we can now do it more often with this special limited time menu!
