Has this ever happened to you? You are driving/walking around when you spot/hear the cries of a helpless animal, whether big or small, injured or suffering from Kuwait’s torturous heat.
If it’s not the heat, then they are probably hungry, or even simply looking for human contact. It could be even worse: they were mauled, or were in an accident. Throughout all of this, the one thing that stands true is that you don’t know HOW to help.
The best way to help an animal on the street is by adopting them, and rescuing them from the trials and tribulations of the unknown. If you can’t adopt, then you can always contribute to the adoption process, or help them find a home.
Are you looking to welcome a furry (or winged!) friend into your family but you don’t know where to adopt?
Luckily, there are a couple of animal rescue and adoption organizations for you to turn to in Kuwait. Many of them are run by selfless and fearless volunteers who will stop at nothing to ensure the safety of the animal in question!
Check out our list below.
Remember, these organizations mostly depend on donations from well-wishers for things like food and veterinary visits, so don’t hesitate to contribute if you can!
Kuwait Animal Rescue Unit (KARU)
KARU does it all – they rescue, rehabilitate, offer adoption and also help look for lost pets. You can follow them on Instagram here.
Rescue Adopt Foster Kuwait (RAF)
RAF is a rescue, adoption and foster nonprofit organization. Their Instagram page is full of animals who are up for adoption so follow them here!
(Read our interview with RAF founders here!)
Kuwait Awareness & Rehabilitation Education (KARE)
While KARE does not have a shelter, they do organize sending adopted animals to their new forever homes abroad. Visit their Instagram account here.
Protecting Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) Kuwait
PAWS Kuwait often encourages people looking for pets to adopt from their shelter and also share posts about missing animals on its Instagram account.
