New images of Aston Martin’s Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake (SB) have been finally released after a long wait along with news of production!
We get a better look at the two-seater Zagato SB, which has an extended sculptural roof with a powered tailgate that opens onto a luxuriously trimmed rear cabin area.
Not only will the Zagato SB enter production but it will also be joined by the Vanquish Zagato Speedster, part of the family of four Vanquish Zagato models.
What is the Zagato family? It consists of the Vanquish Zagato Coupe (first produced in 2016),the Volante, both of which have been limited to 99 cars each, and all sold out. The Speedster will have 28 cars produced and the Shooting Brake will have 99, bringing the grand total to 325 cars. All deliveries are scheduled for 2018.

The Zagato Speedster, considered the rarest, gives the feel of an open-top ultra-high performance sports car and just like the other Zagatos has a body panels made from carbon fibre.

Using the foundation of the Vanquish S series, all Zagatos have a slick-shifting Touchtronic III transmission and adaptive damping
So why create the family? Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, had this to say:
Well, many of our customers want different things. Some prefer the purity of a Coupe, but others love the idea of something more extreme, like the Speedster. And yes, some of them have ordered one example of each.
We’re creating collectibles, future concours cars. With only 325 cars worldwide, divided between 99 Coupes, 99 Volantes, 28 Speedsters and 99 Shooting Brakes – they are still the rarest of the rare.
