Why did you become a barista/involved in the world of coffee?
During my early days, it was only work for me. As I became more familiar with coffee and all of its criteria, I felt a sense of passion I’d been seeking. Coffee, even its aroma, always fascinated me, and led me to become a barista. Whenever I used to have cup of coffee myself, I used to think of how it would be pleasant if I could prepare the same cup for other people. Customer service is another factor which led me to follow my passion for the world of coffee.
What’s the best part of the job? Which part is the worst?
Even a coin has its two sides, so my job holds its pros and cons simultaneously. These pros include being able to deliver great customer service, expanding my knowledge about the coffee industries etc. I do have to face few tiny cons which eventually lead me to learn something new on daily basis. The preparation of coffee and interacting with the different kind of people (customers) makes for the best part of the job which I do enjoy thoroughly.
What makes a regular cup of coffee amazing?
Passion, commitment, initiative. These are the major keys to make a regular cup of coffee amazing. As long as we sustain our passion to prepare the best coffee, every cup we create becomes not just amazing but also exceptionally delicious.
How much coffee do you drink in a day?
As I am a coffee addict, my favorites are an espresso and café Americano. I consume an average of three shots per day.
What do you do for fun?
I prefer spending my leisure time watching movies, listening to and playing music. I love photography, it’s a fun and exciting hobby.
How do you deal with challenging customer requests?
Remaining under the company/brands manner, I would love to customize their requests (as long as it does not affect the brand value). Approval of senior managers and suggestions of contemporizes staff, I always would like to go a bit mile away to meet the anticipations and demands of our valuable customers.
If you weren’t a barista or in the coffee business, what would you like to be?
I probably would be making films or run a photo studio somewhere.
What’s your favorite treat (sweet or savory) to have with your coffee?
I do love a café Americano and espresso, and I strongly recommend to have a vanilla cookie or any type of sweets (lotus cake, angel cake) in order to get the perfect taste balance.
