We at bazaar do a lot to keep Kuwait busy! Between our dining guide and working our fingers to the bone, coming up with interesting stories and tidbits to keep you all entertained, it’s safe to say that we deserve a break.
As a treat, we save up our vacation days to use every July, and vacate to wherever our hearts, bank accounts and passports are willing to take us. This month, we’ve decided to let you in on our summer plans. If you’re stumped on where to go this summer, maybe our destinations can inspire you!
Name: Yasmine El-Charif
Position: Content Coordinator
Summer Destination: Lebanon
How often do I go: As often as possible!
What I’ll do there: Tan, swim, lounge, dine, dance, explore, and catch up with family and close friends!
Why I love it: The majestic scenery, access to pristine beaches, amazing food and an all-around happy atmosphere!
What I recommend: Visiting Beirut for a few days, then either heading up to the mountains for some downtime, or hitting the beaches that dot the Lebanese coast from the very south to the north! Foodie experiences can be found all over, from Beirut’s Souk el Akel and Souk el Tayeb, to simply dining at the corner cafeteria—Lebanese produce is by far the best I have ever tasted.
Name: Tim
Position: Operations Manager
Summer Destination: Egypt
How often do I go: Not as often as I’d like, trying for once a year
What I’ll do there: Get married! Followed by honeymoon and much needed REST!
Why I love it: Egypt is where most of my friends are, as well as my in-laws. Social life in Egypt is amazing, with countless different things to do. As for the beaches, we all know that some of the best beaches in the world are in Egypt!
What I recommend: Just do the local thing, and avoid the tourist spots. In Cairo, shisha on Road 9 in Maadi, Koshary at one of the many excellent spots downtown, or shopping in Khan el-Khalili. If you want a trip to the red sea, head to Dahab.
