As you read this piece, a part of you is probably still pining over that summer holiday where you traveled and explored somewhere completely new – all while you’re in your office at work, dreading that boring routine. Well, stop that nonsense and open up your mind to the possibilities offered to you by living in the now, as life is what you make of it! Here to show us the way is the fun loving, easy going and challenge-seeking Nazem Al-Ghabra.
This thirty-year-old Kuwaiti currently works as a Communications Executive in the ever-so-hectic telecom industry. He loves what he does for a living by accepting the challenges he faces at his job, with the attitude: “it feels good to face them everyday!” Instead of dreading that daily routine, as it is a tricky trap to fall in to, Nazem positively tackles challenges at work, and then moves on to the next step. On a personal note, for instance, he’s always pushing himself to try new things, and his desire to make fitness a part of his lifestyle completely changed the way he looks at how he spends his time. He explained, “If I’m not at the gym, working on improving and challenging my fitness levels, then I spend my time reading, catching up with friends, going to the beach and even traveling when I can. There’s no point in life if you can’t enjoy it.” Greatly inspired by travel, Nazem carries certain cities close to his heart, and these include London, Beirut, Barcelona and Dubai. He said, “London because it feels like home. Beirut is a favorite of mine for its wild vibe, which you can’t get anywhere else in the world. Barcelona I love because I have amazing memories there. As for Dubai, I am amazed by the city’s constant state of evolution toward the better, that city never ceases to amaze me.”
On living in Kuwait, Nazem sees that there are positive changes happening around him, but it is still young, and that it’s up to us to make that change come about. He said, “I would love to see Kuwait regain its title of ‘Pearl of the Gulf’ and see it surpass its neighbors not only in skyscrapers, but also in education and social reform.”
So, instead of wallowing over going back to work or school, and getting back into a boring routine, make sure you take a page out of Nazem’s book and do something different. He’s always looking forward, thinking of a constructive next path for his life. In the future, he aims to indulge his passion for aviation, as the field has always fascinated him since he was young. Nazem concluded, “My aim is to work for an international and renowned airline which I love and respect so much such as Emirates Airlines. They’ve created a solid brand for themselves, and they are present all over the world.”
