The Chubby Balls line has become quite popular in Kuwait and their desserts can almost always be found in every gathering. From Chubby balls, to crepes and cookies, the name is a common household favorite nowadays. But the story behind the Chubby Line is a pretty interesting one to say the least.
This story takes us way back to family get-togethers in the Jaffar family. The Chubby Balls original recipe is based on a Kuwaiti dessert that can be found in the Kuwait Mills recipe book. It was also a loved dessert in the Jaffar family. Chubby balls is a dessert which consists of edible cookie dough balls in a thick layer of sweet cream sauce which is lightly drizzled with chocolate sauce. Over time, the family adapted the recipe and it became a special family recipe.
In 2009, the Chubby Balls started as a homemade dessert which stole people’s hearts. Using a simple, yet delicious recipe this biscuit-based dessert was sold in Kuwait London Company’s restaurants and rose to popularity. The dessert was first featured on a menu in 2009 in the original KLC restaurant, The Kitchen, and quickly became one of the most popular selling items on the menu.
When the dessert quickly rose in popularity, there was only one thing to do, and that was to take this dessert and turn it into a brand. The company’s ultimate plan was to spread the Chubby Love into people’s lives.
For that reason, they started delivering the famous dessert from locations all throughout Kuwait to keep up with demand. Eventually, the first standalone location opened its doors in Kuwait City (Sawaber) in 2017 and the rest was history!
Another pivotal point for the brand was when they started experimenting and adding different varieties of flavors to their Chubby Balls line in 2017.

In 2018, crepes were the latest habba (trend) at the time so it seemed like the perfect opportunity for the brand to expand. For that reason, a second concept of the Chubby Line was launched, called Chubby Crepes.
Chubby Crepes offers delicious crepes with different toppings and fillings. Some of their offerings include the Kinda Chubby which is a classic crepe with Kinder chocolate as a topping.
Another fan favorite is the Nutty Chubby, which is a classic crepe filled with Nutella. With the launch and demand of Chubby Crepes came the Chubby Station for catering.The Chubby Station is the perfect gathering addition!
On the company’s next endeavor in 2019, Chubby Cookies was created. A space themed concept that originally only offered molten cookie cups filled with warm gooey cookies and chocolate goodness.
Although the cookie cup is perfect and a cross between a Chubby balls cup and a cookie, they also offer standard cookies in a variety of flavors in space themes!
The company’s grand vision is to keep providing the market with delicious treats that are authentic and unique to the brand. The Chubby universe plans to continue to grow and expand with more tasty items and possibly new Chubby Brands and we can’t wait to see what’s next for them!
