While we’ve featured Clean Care in our pages back in 2015, it wasn’t until we had to move offices that we finally experienced Clean Care’s professionalism and amazing services here at bazaar’s new Salmiya location. When moving to someplace new, it’s nice to first walk in to a deeply cleaned space to usher in a sense of positivity and relaxation. With our Clean Care experience, it really was a matter of unboxing our stuff, and getting straight to work. We were excited, eager to get to work, and more than anything, we wanted to catch up with the company’s Co-founder and General Manager Fatma Al-Qallaf to talk about how Clean Care has perfected the art of the clean.
“The process is really like an art; you have to love the field you work in to do well. This is actually how I feel about cleanliness and hygiene—my parents always commented on how OCD I can get about cleaning!” MBA graduate Fatma started off our conversation with a chuckle. Sure, but how does that passion translate into one’s work? What started out as a small team has grown into a fully-fledged company, with back office support like call center operators, sale managers, accountants, and a thriving social media presence that aims to educate their followers on best-cleaning practices. “Yes, there is such a thing as too much bleach! You can’t just throw bleach on a stain without firstly understanding the surface you need to clean.” Fatma continues to laugh.
Today, Clean Care’s services are widely utilized by large corporations, hotels, medical centers and even private homes.“Our first expansion of our services was when we began offering home cleaning services, from smaller flats to larger villas, followed by commercial services, and even a dedicated car cleaning service,” Fatma explained, “You can call us, and we will send someone to take care of all of your automobile cleaning needs.”
Fatma’s thinking is based on a well thought out, strategic plan, as well as a continuous journey of self-education. “We do this by attending international expos and seminars all over the world, learning about the latest technology, as well as the most modern products that we can bring to the local market.” Most recently, Fatma and her team attended the Cleaning Middle East expo in Dubai, and was able to procure exclusive distribution rights for more cost efficient dispensers called Tubeless. Rather than classic dispensers filled with a cardboard tube in the middle, with Tubeless dispensers, this cardboard tube is removed, allowing more product to be input into these dispensers. Consider how cost efficient this product is, and rather than outdated tissue dispensers, for instance, you would get much more value by placing more tissue instead of the central tube. This saves customers much more on soaps, tissues, or whichever product they choose to utilize the dispenser for as Tubeless has a range of products that vary from air fresheners, tissues to even soap, amongst other options. “It’s really important to find products that will enhance our customers’ experiences. Why would you want to waste money on additional products when you don’t have to? It’s the same way with cleaning.” From hotels, diwaniyas, to beauty salons, to even the everyday family that chooses to buy in bulk, Clean Care’s dispensary product offering has been a huge hit in the market.
Fatma believes that customers seeking great quality services are Clean Care’s target customer, and that Clean Care’s services arrive as a customizable offering. “I have to understand what each customer wants, which is why we always offer a free consultation visit at first before we prepare a quote for any given client.” She follows this with a mini lesson on the importance of understanding your products at home before you apply any given cleaning material to it. “Would you ever want to ruin your prized Persian carpet? Of course not, so you won’t rush to clean it with any product. It’s the same with our services. We won’t give you a quote until we consult with you first. That’s our process.”
She continues, “Rather than positioning ourselves like other cleaning services, we like to think of ourselves as problem solvers. We are solution providers for any and every cleaning service a client could ever want or need.” Sometimes, clients call Clean Care for a basic job, only to realize that the space in question actually requires full maintenance, before the actual cleaning set to take place. It is Fatma’s deeply rooted passion for the process that allows her to speak on the topic with such expertise. From going on on consultation visits, understanding the customer’s needs, their requirements, complaints, Fatma has done it all and then some. She even tries out the products herself, and spends hours online researching the field. In the future, she looks to conduct educational seminars on best practices for keeping a pristine home.
