What experience most defined your decision and desire to get into the hotel industry?
Passion, dedication and the creativity that goes along with the job. I’ve always been great with communicating with people, it always came easily to me and I love it. Even if we don’t share the same language.
What do you love the most about your current job?
I love how dynamic the hospitality industry is, and I love the smile I see on peoples’ faces after they’ve enjoyed a fantastic experience at the hotel.
Where is your favorite place to shop for food and ingredients in Kuwait?
I love Souq Al Mubarakiya and all the amazing smells, colors, and freshness of ingredients always present. I generally prefer to shop for my ingredients from fresh food markets.
What food most reminds you of your family’s house, and why?
Surprisingly, Ouzi, Biryani and local rice dishes! While the cuisine of my home country of Azerbaijan is different, I feel that the way food brings family and friends together here is so similar to Kuwait’s food culture. These dishes always remind me of my grandma’s house, and how we would all get together to prepare the family feast.
What is your favorite concept at Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya and why?
I love Elements Restaurant because of all the different food stations—this makes for such a fun dining experience. Also, the Pan-Asian specialties at Sintoho are incredible. I can’t recommend this dining experience enough.
Who in the world would you most like to cook for?
My partner. Because, if the food is bad, I won’t be judged for my cooking.
Name 3 ingredients that you love cooking or eating.
I’m obsessed with the combination of Avocado and salmon. I also love almonds, beans and do enjoy my seafood.
What do you think will be the biggest food trend of 2019?
Healthy food surely.
