At eNVy Designer Studio, the brilliant mix of elegance and embroidery is perfected to create unique and fashionable luxury wear. The boutique displays an array of striking, stylish Indian attires, ranging from sarees, salwar suits, to kurtis, anarkalis. Its fresh and contemporary perspective materializes with designer Nida Vanoo’s funky and formal fits. With her inspiring passion and fantastic taste in textiles, Nida has introduced a new fashion startup that expands her creativity beyond any particular community and culture. These new styles invite customers with design aspirations to create their own clothing or outfit, with her professional guidance and experience.
Venturing into the market with this idea was not easy for Nida, who faced the classic challenge of altering customer mind-sets and providing a contemporary touch to traditional Indian wear. “When I started five years ago, a pattern appeared where people preferred importing ethnic wear. A change in perspective was required. Getting these customers to trust us with the material and design suitable to their taste was both an opportunity as well as a challenge. I always knew that I wanted to do something on the same lines. So eNVy started as one of the first designer boutiques in Kuwait catering exclusively to Indian ethnic wear,” explains Nida. “We now deal with more than 2500 clients.”
Though blending exotic and local designs has always been her sense of style, Nida confesses inclination towards traditional Indian wear. “I am more into Indian designing, though I work on both lines. Even our local darras and dresses have an Indian touch to them. That is what the customers like about us.”
Following increased demand, eNVy plans to expand its outlet while catering to menswear, childrenswear and abayas for women. Nida says, “The extravagant Indian outfit attracts everyone. Many like Indian fabrics and the look of the dress, but they do not want the same style. I have to vary my designs accordingly. Basically, I am trying to reach out to other nationals who would enjoy my designs. We have yet to experience the results.”
The outfits vary in fashion, from a wide choice of hand-work, embroideries, Zari work, laces, ribbons, frills, etc. The store displays a range of stunning pastels for its summer collection. Long georgette anarkalis with gold stonework, or white thread and pearl handwork along the neckline. “Trends change all the time and we are required to understand what the customer is looking for. We try to keep innovating new patterns every now and then, so that they always get something new,” says Nida.
In addition to vibrant, graceful and modish dresses, eNVy also stores traditional Indian jewelry, scarves, dupattas, clutches and hand embroidered wallets to help complete the entire look. Available in all sizes are kurtas with floral design and varying borders. Brocade patiala salwars in various colors, digital printed georgette tunics and velvet bordered sarees are perfected to serve all occasions. Multi-tiered cotton dresses in different block prints and anarkali with Zari borders in the hem, neck and sleeves. This refreshing collection of tunics, kaftans, lehengas, sarees present a large range of choices from eNVy and can be picked up ready-to-wear or customized to suit any taste.
