For locals living in Kuwait, driving by Kuwait’s most notable landmarks is just another day of cruising in town. But, these landmarks are constantly leveling up, whether it is a new restaurant being opened or a new exhibit. Head out to some of our favorite spots to try cool dining options and the joy of revisiting an old landmark. Here is our list to help you out!
AL SHAHEED PARK
Fleur’s Corner
This bakery first opened its doors in Khaldiya and its gorgeous interiors made it a top Instagram photo spot. After their flower shop in Yarmouk, they now have a cafe at a prime spot in Al Shaheed Park, overlooking the grassy knoll and by the artificial lake. You can get your brunch classics and some good coffee with a great view. So stop by after your morning walk or even if you are in the mood for a picnic!
Ayyame
If you love the Marina Crescent location overlooking the bay, then you will find Ayyame’s Al Shaheed Park location absolutely beautiful. Not only is it located right by the dhow fountain in Phase 2, but its interiors are inviting and with warm Middle Eastern influences. Make the trek for their scrumptious Lebanese breakfast over the weekend for the best outdoor vibes, surrounded by greenery and the soft gurgling water sounds. They’ve also recently brought back their classic items so definitely stop by!
Three & Barista
Located in Phase I of Al Shaheed Park, this coffee shop not only has excellent coffee but also offers yummy options for lunch and dinner. It’s a great spot to meet for an evening chat and has an actual car inside beautifully decorated with coffee goodies and flowers!
Table Otto
From the same talented team of street, almakan and now San Ristorante, Table Otto has been tantalizing our taste buds since it first opened its doors to the public back in 2016. Fast forward to today, you’ll find plenty of delectable, mouth-watering options for breakfast, lunch and dinner! With its beautiful outdoor garden area, we love starting our weekends with a long walk at Al-Shaheed Park, then stopping over at Table Otto for the ultimate brunch experience.
KUWAIT TOWERS
The Horizon
A gorgeous restaurant that is located on the top floor of the sphere in Kuwait Towers and overlooks a beautiful Kuwait. One of the most unique features of it, is its rotating platform where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Amimoto
A truly authentic Japanese experience awaits you at the Kuwait Towers. From a beautiful explosion of simple culinary flavors, to the jazzy music playing in the background, you can bet on Amimoto to keep you at zen. The restaurant and Chef have chosen to remain true to Japanese culture, not shying away from traditional cooking methods and foods. From solid, splinter-free Hokkaido wooden chopsticks, to an exquisite Eggplant Ice Cream dessert, Amimoto continues to show us that it does not cut even the smallest corners.
Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre – JACC
Baker & Spice
Every Baker & Spice location, whether Souq Sharq or The Avenues, has a unique design, but their Sheikh Jaber al Ahmad Cultural Centre (JACC) restaurant is located quite literally across the central fountains. Inside you are surrounded by fresh herbs and plants that with the beautiful display cases showcasing the in-house products liven up the space. With a full breakfast, main course options, bakery, salad bar and many sweet offerings, Baker & Spice at JACC is a perfect spot to visit for any time of the day.
Cocoa Room
Fair warning – if you plan to visit Cocoa Room for breakfast or brunch, expect to wait for a seat. The food is that good and their only location is at Sheikh Jaber al Ahmad Cultural Centre (JACC) in the circle of restaurants overlooking the fountains. Not only are their breakfast options well-made, the highlight of their menu are, well, the cocoa-based dishes and drinks!
Meem Cafe
With this cafe’s modern take on Middle Eastern Flavors, there’s always something for everyone. Enjoy the dazzling display of the water fountains at JACC over a plateful of Meem Cafe’s infamous manakeesh, and these are just some of their incredible offerings! The best part? You’ll still be feeling light even after happily indulging.
White Robata
White Robata is probably the most hyped Japanese restaurant in Kuwait. The aesthetics of the restaurant alone makes for a wonderful visit, and an exceptional dining experience. But, they only take reservations. So, if you’re looking to try out some of the greatest dishes ever made, be sure to reserve beforehand, otherwise you’ll be stuck waiting for hours till a table frees up.
Rococoa
From chocolaterie, pâtisserie to ice creamery. Rococoa is the place to be if you’d like to satisfy your sweet cravings!
Also available at JACC: Dikakeen, Googoosh, Kashounat Al-bait, Over Jar, Ves Vas, Villa Fayrouz and Karak Gholam
