With Kuwait’s flourishing food and beverage industry, finding the right partner to help spread the word about your unique concept can be hard work. First of all, food, as an industry, is quite the personal field to tackle from a messaging perspective.
Everyone’s taste is different, and marketing your product or service to your target customer can lead you to enter into a world of trials and tribulations in what is considered to be an already fiercely competitive market. This is where the experts at Dots RM come into play.
Dots RM (Research & Marketing) is a marketing company which specializes in unique activations in the food and beverage industry. Based in Kuwait and with more than 20 years’ experience between the young team, their vibrant ideas and connection to the market have allowed them to create an extensive portfolio of work since they launched in 2017. With an impressive client list of the top restaurants and chefs in the market, they have also initiated projects in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
Their recent work with prominent delivery platform Carriage is most illustrative of what Dots RM can do to make your concept stand out from the crowd. They were approached by Carriage back in August 2018 to create the new opening screen for the most fastest, most popular delivery application in Kuwait. Managing Director of Dots RM, Lucy Moore, conceptualized the project for Carriage; a homegrown concept that launched delivering a select number of high end eateries.
The challenge of this project was to represent the new verticals of the platform; Carriage no longer only delivers food but also flowers, cosmetics & perfumes, groceries, pharmaceuticals, health supplements, and most recently pet supplies and electronics. These needed to be presented in a way that was in line with the light, fun brand attributes of Carriage yet also not tie them to vendor favoritism.
When it came to visualizing this project, Lucy Moore, Managing Director at Dots RM, envisioned an opening page that captured the essence of the delivery platform on every level; incorporating their signature red-orange hue with a clean finish while adding a touch of lightness through illustration, something that Carriage has utilized since its early days.
She worked primarily with her in-house team at Dots RM, and Lucy appointed Averil Dias as Head of Photography for the shoot with Nikhil Rodrigues as her Assistant Photographer and set design managed by Mahmoud Abdullah. For the retouching, Bahrain based expert Sergio Miranda joined the project with the final illustration touches by Hanzada Kurdi, the newest Dots RM team member. Launched on Android on November 4th and IOS the following week, this project is the latest yet most public collaboration between Dots RM and Carriage.
At Dots RM, the entire team is creatively inclined. Lucy Moore joined Dots RM as the Managing Director in summer 2017. Having previously held the position of Managing Editor of Khaleejesque Magazine, she moved to pursue a career in her lifelong passion of food. As a creative strategist, she has combined her knowledge of the market and culinary flair to build the company, along with Founder Yousef Al-Wazzan, with a curated number of clients presenting unique ideas into the market.
Photographer Averil Dias is one of Dots RM leading in-house talents. Having started food photography as far back as 2014, she is continually growing her knowledge of photography, editing, and content creation. Averil has headed numerous shoots for Dots RM clients and is moving more into videography and design application as well.
Assistant Photographer Nikhil Rodrigues has been part of the Dots RM team since day one. As a central member of the production team, his skill set covers photography, editing, videography, and collage. An active person by nature with an affinity for the outdoors, much of his work reflects his charisma and fun loving nature.
27-year-old Mahmoud Abdullah makes all of Dot RM’s incredible set visions come to life. As the projects’ Set Designer, Mahmoud is a self-taught graphic designer and believes that designing is an exciting, long life learning experience. His dream in the future is to run a creative hub for young Egyptians in order for them to utilize their talents and skills, developing creative projects that will have a positive impact on Egyptian society.
Sergio Miranda is a renowned fashion and advertising photographer in the Gulf, having worked with the biggest names across industries, he feels most at home behind the camera. Hailing from Argentina and now based in Bahrain, Sergio is continuously studying and researching new techniques, technologies, and ideas to add creativity to every step of production.
As for Dots RM’s newest family member, the creative Hanzada Kurdi has been drawing ever since she could pick up a pencil and is currently at Kuwait University studying graphic design. Already showing great promise, her simple sketch style adds character to her work.
