The best kind of gift is the one you give yourself. Mostly because it is an act of self-love, self-care and an acknowledgment of how what you deserve. But it is impossible to surprise yourself. Unless, of course, you gift yourself a Droom subscription.
Subscription boxes are an interesting concept. You are buying the element of novelty, surprise and excitement. Droom is an online community for shoppers who love to connect, shop, and try new things. The brand focuses on finding the best products and services then making it easy for their subscribers to try them out.
In Dutch and African (droom) means (dream) and by producing a unique box every month specially designed for you it’s like a dream come true. Sisters Dalal, Fatma and Mona Alsaeed started the company together and are committed to discovering remarkable products and making these accessible to their customers. They also want to make sure that you are getting the products you desire with an added helping of surprise and excitement. All three of them love online shopping, testing new products and reading product reviews, and now they’re passing on their knowledge to Droom users.
When you sign up to the services you are asked a lot of questions so they can create a unique customer profile just for you. The app is also quite interactive and you can take part in fun quizzes throughout the week. Questions are engaging, for example you might get asked: what’s your favorite bar of chocolate? Dark, white or milk? Do you prefer coffee, flowers or candy? What’s on your wishlist; new gym subscription, salon subscription or spa subscription? It helps Droom better understand your likes and desires, so they are better equipped to send you only things you will enjoy.
The goodies in the box fit a wide range of products as well as vouchers for services. Each month you might be treated to skincare, makeup, snacks, dry food or beverages. And you might also find yourself invited to try a gym, get a free facial or laser treatment or check out a new restaurant menu.
The Droom app isn’t just to help the brand understand you, it is also your way of connecting with the community. You can share what you got in your box and read about other Droomies’ products. The purpose of Droom is to highlight the good products out there. The ones that are worth the try instead of following thousands of false recommendations through social media. Droom requires their subscribers to post a review after trying out the product, because brands want to see the information for product development. The sisters hope to continue growing the Droom community and become the go-to trusted platform for any product/service.
Droom is also great for brands and service providers who want to reach a larger market; helping them find their audience by targeting the right demographic based on the carefully designed user profiles. Droom can also then provide qualitative and quantitative feedback that can be used to improve a product or service. It is also free advertising, because the items are posted on Droom social media channels and on the application.
A 3-month subscription will cost you 30KD but you are getting so much more value back. While the exact value of each box varies based on the mix of items, on average, they are usually filled with products and services that are worth 60 KD and more. Although they can reach more, even up to 130 KD!
Right now you can opt for a three or six months option, and there will be a nine-month and a one-year option offer later this spring. And if you live in KSA or Qatar, they’re expanding their services there very soon. If you are curious and want to give it a shot before you subscribe, they recently opened the Droom shop for customers who only want one box. You can customize your box by selecting a minimum of 4 products or purchase a mystery box.
