Regardless of its location, the quality of the food enjoyed at Edo is always impeccable. With two unique destinations that complete the setting for your dining experience, the mood is perfectly set. Whether you’re a lover of the sea, or would much rather prefer elegant modern Japanese dining with pristine, green rolling hills, Edo has you covered with two spectacular locations: Edo On The Shore in Abu Halifa, or Edo Club at The Sahara Golf Club.
You can choose to dine at Edo Club, a Japanese oasis set at the Sahara Golf Club in Kuwait that is well known for its Friday Buffet Lunches and Tuesday Jazz Nights. With stunning views of the pristine and well-kept golf course grounds, your experience is guaranteed to be calm and peaceful. We love the more secluded dining areas available at Edo Club that allow for larger groups and gatherings or, you can also enjoy dining by the beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows to ideally enjoy the view! Edo Club truly offers a transcendent experience, whether you let the Chef compose your menu (Omakase), or if you choose A la Carte dishes. Every visit to Edo Club offers a different joy for the palate.
Since Edo’s inception in 2002, we’ve grown accustomed to the restaurant’s consistent quality and incomparable taste, because it imports the ingredients directly from Japan and maintains a resident Japanese Chef at the helm of both locations. This conscious attitude is widely reflected at Edo Club as well as Edo On The Shore, where an ethos of high quality Japanese dining can be seen in every dish served at these establishments. New flavors, always demonstrated through the weekly specials, are a must try, as they are presented in a fashion that keeps with the taste of traditional Japanese dining, where texture is king. Additionally, Edo Club offers a selection of delicious Korean dishes on its menu.
If you would rather revel in unforgettable sea views, then Edo On The Shore at the Sea View complex in Abu Halifa is the place for you. Like Edo Club, the pristine white high ceilings at Edo On The Shore allow for a constant flood of natural light that calmly reflects off of the restaurant’s iconic red, black and white elements. You will notice the modular modern light fixtures, and the sleek black bar that showcases the finest cuts of fish that serve as a promise for a delicious dining experience set against majestic sea views.
You’re never at a loss for hearty and wholesome dishes at Edo. If you’re looking for the perfect lunch, then the Donburi individual rice dishes will surely hit the spot. Whether you have it all to yourself, or share (we won’t judge you if you do), the Katsu Don will deliver you with your choice of either breaded beef or chicken, served over a generous helping of rice with eggs, mushrooms and onion. Mix it all up in the bowl, and revel in the pleasing medley of flavors and textures. Every element of the Donburi dishes are prepared with flavor in mind, and are best enjoyed when you mix up all of the elements in the bowl (rice, vegetables, protein) with small sips of the accompanying soup in between bites.
You can’t dine at Edo without ordering some sushi and sashimi, and as always, you know you’re in for a treat when it comes to their salmon and tuna selections. We love that the salmon sashimi is cut so close to the skin, allowing us diners to benefit from the healthiest part of this seafood delight.
When it comes to dessert, you must try the Mochi at Edo. A traditional Japanese rice cake usually served with a creamy filling, your childish side will be playfully pleased with the Mochi with vanilla bean home made ice cream that’s innocently sweet and creamy, and your adult palate will absolutely appreciate the wondrously infused green tea version that is prepared with Macha. We loved the Mochi here because it wasn’t at all overpowering, and while our sweet tooth was satisfied, we still didn’t forget the symphony of flavors that we earlier enjoyed at one of our favorite dining institutions in Kuwait.
