This pandemic has proven to be divisive, bringing out sentiments of greed and selfishness we find unsavory. But it has also powerfully brought communities together, and that’s exactly what we’ve been seeing from one of our favorite burger joints in town, Elevation Burger. They’ve really set a fine example for other companies to follow, giving their slogan ‘Ingredients Matter’ a whole new meaning by considering the people in the local community as the ingredients which matter the most.
Here’s how Elevation Burger is smashing pandemic crisis management, taking care of their employees, customers, and above all, the collective community:
Elevation Burger continues to lead the way with transparency.
They proactively focused on taking extreme safety measures towards employees, customers, and frontliners alike. An emergency team was created to keep all employees appraised of the latest updates regarding COVID-19, creating a clear line of open communication at all times.
Employee safety is always at the forefront.
Safety is not just about asking if your employee is feeling unwell, it’s ensuring that you’ve equipped them with the right tools to help them take control of their health. Elevation Burger provided each employee with a complete ‘Hygiene Kit’, which included hand sanitizer, as well as PPE like face masks/face shields and gloves. They keep these kits on hand at all times, helping them stay safe in and outside of the workplace. Temperature checks are now regular practice, and PPE is a must at all times.
Customer safety is always a top priority.
Taking this proactive approach towards health has allowed Elevation Burger to continue to safely serve their customers. They’ve designated an in-house quality control team to monitor and make sure that they’re constantly in compliance with the government’s latest health protocols, updating them as required. Prior to the full lockdown, they’d made available hand sanitizers and created branded messages reminding people to safely physically distance at all times, and only allowing 5 customers at any given time to be present inside their stores provided safe social distancing measures. Post lockdown, stores were closed for an extra 2 days for full sanitation. And as we hopefully proceed into Phase 2 with Kuwait’s return to normalcy plan, they’re already putting in place the right procedures to ensure that all safety regulations are met.
They’ve upscaled their already superior hygiene standards.

While Elevation Burger is widely recognized for their food safety protocols (we’ve been previously allowed to see the kitchens under the strictest conditions, and everything was always spotless!), they added an extra layer of protection to their delivery packaging in the form of a plastic bag which is tightly sealed.
They didn’t neglect the mental toll brought on by this pandemic.
This crisis has been draining both physically and mentally, and handling this stress can be difficult. Considering the mental as well as physical wellbeing of their employees, Elevation Burger collaborated with Fawzia Sultan Rehabilitation Institute to help their entire team gain a broader understanding of the importance of psychological health and how to manage stress during these trying times. Mental health and wellness workshops with communications expert and drama therapist Dr. Fatma Al Qadfan were designed to create a safe space for discussion and included team-building activities.
The community’s well being extends beyond the physical safety of customers and employees.
Strongly believing that customers’ mental wellbeing is just as important as their physical health, Elevation Burger once again reached out to the local community. They collaborated with Dr. Mohammad AlSuwaidan to deliver their followers with a motivational social media series on the importance of mental health complete with tips that the public could adopt on a day-to-day basis.
Elevation Burger supports our frontliners and volunteers.
As we safely physically distance ourselves at home, our frontliners and volunteers are risking their lives on a daily basis. As part of Elevation Burger’s continued passion to support our local community, they took initiative right from the start of the pandemic, fueling frontliners and volunteers in 17 Coops and 12 institutions around Kuwait with their delicious, organic food offerings. From frontliners and firefighters to medical staff and other volunteers, Elevation Burger is lending a helping hand wherever they can, actively distinguishing their role in the community as active supporters and not just spectators.
