We can all agree that a memorable meal leaves an imprint on one’s mind. For instance, you could close your eyes, and immediately be transported to the very moment you’ve bitten into your first Elevation Burger. It’s sensational. But what happens when this great meal also invokes a sense of endless pride for one’s country and community? Magic.
The good people at Elevation Burger strive to deliver a message of hope and togetherness in every step of their operation, considering the local community as the ingredient which matters the most. Commenting on Elevation Burger’s CSR efforts, TABCo CEO Abdulaziz AlTuraiji said, “Our passion for community is a part of who we are as we have always taken steps to enhance, engage and empower society. Youth empowerment, education and creativity are some of our main priorities and the challenging times we are facing have only made us more involved in the betterment of our community.” Let’s take a look at some of Elevation Burger’s community efforts, and how they inspire us to constantly strive to do better ourselves.
Supporting those who matter the most: Our Frontliners
Since the start of the pandemic, Elevation Burger did not hesitate to extend a helping hand, wherever they may be needed and without being asked to do so. During last year’s election season, for instance, they distributed meals to healthcare professionals. Elevation Burger also supports frontliners including police officers, firefighters, and Co-Op Volunteers, distributing an estimated 7,000 meals to 20 COOPS and 15 other institutions including hospitals, and vaccination centers. Fueling their efforts, literally and morally, is what keeps frontliners going, as they know no rest, no break and many of them don’t even have the opportunity to go home and be with their families after a long shift of serving and protecting.
Driving Civic Engagement to make a difference, one burger at a time
Perhaps now, more than ever before, the local community needs to turn up to make a change. With the pressures of the pandemic, feeling a sense of defeat is expected yet counterproductive, but exercising your civic duty is not, as it will make a difference. This is why Elevation Burger decided to proactively get involved when it mattered most, Election Day. AlTuraiji added, “We encourage political participation as we believe that it creates a better society for all.” On the day of the last election campaign, Elevation Burger turned up to make a change by offering residents a free meal after they’ve casted their parliamentary vote. This campaign was exceptionally clever, as our favorite burger joint reminded us all about how a shared local responsibility, such as the importance of voting, could be a rewarding act. An astounding 8,000 voters turned up, presented their voting documents, and proceeded to enjoy a well-earned free Elevation Burger meal. We’re pretty sure that this campaign has formed an everlasting imprint in their hearts and the burger they enjoyed on the day tasted infinitely better in their minds.
Putting our children first
Elevation Burger believes that children should have the best start to live fulfilling lives, and must receive their basic rights of a normal education. They have been avid supporters of the safe re-opening of schools, as they believe it is essential for their mental, social and emotional advancement. Moreover, Elevation Burger believes in the creation of a safe space for children, and they’ve renovated the playground near Qurtuba Coop, and have undertaken the complete renovation of the kids playground at The Hope School for Special Needs by redoing the flooring, repainting toys and so much more. They are also keen on empowering Kuwait’s youth, as their LOYAC Internship Program is going strong. Currently, there are 12 university interns currently working in Elevation Burger’s stores.
Breathing new life into our public spaces
There’s something so unique about the entire Al-Seif Strip, and the Elevation Burger in the area is one of our favorite locations to frequent. The steps at Al-Seif have been the scene of many bazaar photoshoots, and we are sure that other creatives have shared the same experiences there. At the same time, we would be remiss not to mention how so many parts of the city have been neglected. This is why we were amazed when Elevation Burger sponsored the efforts of Kuwaiti Architect Mai Al Busairi and the Kuwaiti artist Sultan Al Samhan in the renovation of the Al Seif Staircase. The project’s aims were to create a communal space for people to gather, commemorate the past and build a better future together. The end result is beyond beautiful, a mere footsteps away from Elevation Burger’s Al Seif location for everyone to admire and to enjoy.
تاخذ نصي
If you’re feeling a sense of isolation in the midst of this draining pandemic, know that you are not alone. “تاخذ نصي” is Elevation Burger’s first ad campaign, and it was launched at the right time to remind people that they were never alone. The cinematic ad took social media by storm, driving so many comments where people shared their experiences of curfews and lockdown. It successfully highlighted the importance of human connection, showcasing relatable scenarios, like tuning in to the daily press conference from the Ministry of Health, the challenges of distance learning, to drawing a bittersweet smile on peoples’ faces when one scene showed a man filling his shopping cart with onions. With “تاخذ نصي ”, Elevation Burger reminded us that our experiences of last year and this year were never solitary, as the entire community has had to burden an unprecedented situation, and that we can only move forward together.
For Elevation Burger, giving back to the community isn’t simply a matter of stating the importance of having several initiatives, but it is also about acting on beliefs that will make a difference, big and small.
