Fajer Alawadhi is a goal-getter at heart. She is certified in various fields from beauty to floristry, with an excellent background in marketing and strategic planning, and she is only 33-years-old. But Fajer is in fact, a fulltime housewife raising two beautiful daughters. With such a multi-faceted personality, she continues to follow her passions and goals as she tells us about her inspiring experiences.
Her journey in the creative arts began with makeup almost eight years ago, stating, “I initially started because I was pregnant, and I gained so much weight with my first daughter. I didn’t want to buy clothes, so I just started buying makeup and watching YouTube videos,” and from there she began to take classes, as well as courses specialized in the art of makeup and hairstyling. Fajer took courses not only in Kuwait, but also regionally and internationally. What first began as an escape, quickly flourished into a fully-fledged passion.
As Fajer’s expertise continued to develop step by step, she progressed from basic levels towards a higher level especially in makeup, and decided to share her knowledge with everyone else, and offer people who shared her interests an opportunity to learn more. Whether it was by organizing individual workshops in working with makeup and hairstyling, or managing to set an event to gain skills from only the best kind of specialists, such as bringing Jennifer Lopez’s makeup artist to K-town!
Whenever her curiosity is tickled by a new field, such as floristry, Fajer doesn’t hesitate, and instantly kickstarts the journey. When she embarked into the magical world of flower arrangements, Fajer wasn’t initially attracted to the field, but she liked the notion of it.
“When I started handling [the flowers], feeling them, it suited me,” she says. So, instead of it being challenging, floristry created a rather calming, and a much needed, therapeutic space for her. To Fajer, it’s all about enjoying your interests, taking the initiative to actually trying it out, seeing the results first before shutting the notion of intrigue down. This willingness to explore is a lesson, in and of itself, that we can all apply to our lives.
While Fajer deeply identifies with her experience of being a mother, and building a life with her family, that never stopped her from following what she enjoys the most and achieving her goals. As she is currently raising her seven-year-old and nine-month-old daughters, Fajer is keen on teaching them to never stop learning or exploring, and to become as independent as they choose to be.
The certifications she has gained throughout the years in a variety of fields have not only made her into becoming a successful consultant and strategic planner, but she has managed to bring all of her gained expertise into a full circle by becoming a certified lifestyle coach. As Fajer aims to spread the awareness of having passionate goals, she says “I don’t believe a lifestyle coach is just about fixing relationships, it’s not necessarily fixing something to me as opposed to finding what ignites you to be driven, to achieve more. You need to achieve that self-love, so it’s just a matter of re-tweaking your balance, so you’d know how to move forward with the goals you want to achieve and set them accordingly.”
Fajer is also currently working on launching her website, which aims to inspire others by helping them create new goals and offering tips and tricks on how to achieve them. Her advice to us is to “Always be aware and be aligned with who you are, and who you want to be. Practice and build communities together, have people that remind you and tell you that it’s okay; it’s okay to fall back and get back on track!”. Fajer’s journey will continue to inspire us in keeping track with our sense of self-balance, setting up our goals, and achieving them!
