When Fantasy World first opened its doors in Kuwait, our childhoods were forever changed. Fantasy World delivered to us glimpses of the luxe life, offering wondrous toys, games, crafts and educational activities for us to indulge in without having to travel out of the country to the West to procure these childhood favorites. Fantasy World was our ultimate fantasy, as its brand name implies, because all our wildest dreams were possible in that iconic flagship location in Al Rai.

Twenty-one years and many locations later, many of us who have surpassed our Fantasy World doting years have sadly lost touch with the wonderland of play. It seems that Fantasy World misses us, however, and so to pay homage to our generation and include us back in the fun, they’ve introduced The Edge – a department dedicated to adults! (If that’s what we’re calling ourselves now.)

Tried and tested, The Edge literally evokes the same emotions you’d feel when going into Fantasy World to spend your hard-earned Eid cash. The only difference is that now, instead of entering with a wad of Eidiya, you have a credit card jam-packed with your salary!

The Edge is filled with fun gadgets that still hold the creative twist that Fantasy World loved instilling in the children it helped raise (i.e.: Us). So it makes sense that we should continue to frequent the toy store for gifting needs, as The Edge’s “adult gifts” are perfect for everyone.

3D printing pens, quality drones, Karaoke machines and easy gardening systems are just a few of the treasures The Edge has to offer. Speakers are aplenty with different options to choose from, but what caught our attention was the Marshall Stanmore speaker system that exudes retro vibes with ultimate modernity.

Its appearance mirrors the classic Marshall amplifier system, but operates with Bluetooth to you’re your favorite tunes from your preferred device. It also gives you control to fine tune the system in order to produce the sound you like, but promises great quality even if left as is.

Their PURE speakers offer a walk down memory lane, as their design mimics that of our boom boxes and radio/stereo combinations from days of yore. These speakers, however, are far from prehistoric with endless high-tech touches that make them amazing for everyday use, and uncomplicated.

The system includes radio AM/FM listening, a CD player, Bluetooth operations, AUX input, a kitchen timer, an alarm clock, and a snooze tap-handle feature! Our unanimous vote is that they’re perfect for placement in the kitchen, the bedroom, or the terrace while you’re entertaining.

The Eclipse capsule system by Dolce Gusto is also available, but what’s special about this specific model is its sleek design. Ideal for anybody who loves to embody the ultimate chic, this system is made to pair flawlessly with any pristine office. This brand new addition to Fantasy World’s inventory offers a minimalist, non-intimidating presentation of a sleek egg, and opens up on command to fly around like any drone should. In our opinion, it’s also the perfect bonding gadget for any tech-indulgent parent to share with their child, since it’s fun, futuristic, and easy to use.

But what was quite possibly our favorite feature item The Edge has to offer is Flyte: The Levitating Light Bulb. It consists of a modern wooden base (that made our inner interior decorators smile) exuding strong magnetic fields to levitate a large light bulb directly above.

It’s wireless technology allows for the light bulb to turn off and on with just a simple tap, and if you have the newest iPhone or Samsung smart phone models, your phone will charge if placed upon the wooden platform!

What we really loved about all of The Edge’s products is at the end of the day, they reminded us of the values that Fantasy World instilled in us, their very first customers, when we were children. Continuing the tradition with adult centric gadgets that we can enjoy around the house is the best recognition they could’ve given us, and now, we can still say as full-grown adults, that a trip to Fantasy World is still something to look forward to.
