Fallout 4
Fallout is a franchise that has been around for quite some time, starting out as an isometric 2-D open world RPG which evolved into a 3-D open-world game once Bethesda Studios got their hands on it. Fallout 4 is set in Boston and takes place 200 years after a nuclear war, around the same time Fallout 3 does. Fallout 4 will be similar to its predecessor so you’ll be able to roam around and explore an open post-apocalyptic wasteland, but this time you’ll be able to build your own settlements, fully customize your weapons and ride vehicles.
Star Wars Battlefront
Star Wars Battlefront promises to be an entertaining and action packed online multiplayer shooter. We can’t expect any less when the studio behind it is DICE, known for their excellent Battlefield series. The game will feature various game modes that will include huge epic forty player battles to smaller scale six on six fights. You get to choose between being an Imperial Stormtrooper or a Rebel Alliance soldier and battles will take place across the planets Endor, Hoth, Tatooine, and Sullust.
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii became a quick favorite of mine and I consider it to be one of the best role-playing games I’ve experienced. The world and the narrative were brilliant. The amount of content was staggering. Xenoblade Chronicles X is a spiritual successor which is being released in December on the Wii U. The game promises to be similar to it’s predecessor, but even more advanced, including the ability to customize and ride your very own mech as you explore a new planet to establish a new home for humanity.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set in 1868 London during the Industrial Revolution. Ubisoft is giving us the choice to play with two characters who are twins, Jacob and Evie Frye as you take on the Templars. The game will also feature vehicles for the first time which include trains and horse carriages. The game has also improved its combat system, making it more fluid and smooth, letting you switch between melee combat and weapon combat without interruption.
Halo 5: Guardians
It’s been three years since the release of Halo 4. With each release the games have gotten more and more ambitious and Halo 5: Guardians doesn’t seem to be any different. Boasting a large ensemble cast, Halo 5 will feature a campaign mode with two main characters, similar to that of Halo 2. You’ll be playing both as Master Chief and as Agent Locke, a “man-hunter” tasked with finding Master Chief, who has gone missing with his squad. The multiplayer aspect of the game has also been improved. Instead of using Halo 4’s system where each player could customize their loadout, everyone starts with the same weapons in Halo 5. Which is fairer for all players involved because kills will be based more on skill, knowledge of the levels and where the best weapons are in each map.
Call of Duty Black Ops III
The risk with games that come out annually is that they start to feel like the same game. So it’s nice to see Treyarch take some risks with Black Ops III. First off you’ll be able to customize your main character in campaign mode and you’ll also have a choice between choosing to be a male or female character both fully voiced by talented actors. The campaign mode is also designed to be more open, with bigger levels and less shooting in tight spaces like corridors. Campaign mode will also support up to 4 players in co-op mode. The game will also include a full-fledged zombie mode which includes it’s own campaign mode and XP progression system. Multiplayer has also been changed. Instead of creating your own character to fight against other people, you’ll have to choose between nine different “specialists” who have their own personalities, weapons and abilities.
