H&M is proud to introduce Blank Staples, a new collection of men’s streetwear essentials that are set to form the building blocks of the ultimate contemporary wardrobe: hoodies, sweatshirts, sweatpants and T’s. This core collection from H&M elevates the basics, with subtle but highly considered design aesthetics, each piece finished its own blank label. Blank Staples is conceived and created by the men’s design team at H&M, partnering with Highsnobiety to work on campaigns and future collaborations. The first drop of Blank Staples will arrive on kw.hm.com and in H&M stores in Kuwait on September 3.
“Highsnobiety is thrilled to bring Blank Staples to life with H&M. This carefully considered collection is in tune with how men dress today, with an attitude that’s open to collaborative and creative possibilities,”
David Fischer, Founder and CEO of Highsnobiety.
Blank Staples sets the new standard for essentials at H&M, with a focused collection cut from heavyweight cottons that have a dry hand-feel. For H&M’s men’s design team, the emphasis is on the specific details that matter in streetwear. It’s the silhouette that comes from the drop of the shoulder, and the proportions of the sweatpants or the width of the neckline rib. Blank Staples is curated in a modern color palette of tobacco, off white, brown and black.
The collection is in tune with the evolving way that men live their lives. As dress codes become more relaxed, the details count more than ever. Blank Staples gives fresh opportunities for creating personal style, by adding elevated streetwear pieces into the mix. It’s about taking pride in the everyday wardrobe, whether it’s for work, for play, for both.
“We are excited to begin this new journey with Blank Staples at H&M. It’s about creating something meaningful, both as core essentials for the way men live today and as a blank canvas for future collaborations. Highsnobiety are the perfect partners because of their expertise, knowledge and credibility within the streetwear segment,”
Ross Lydon, Head of Menswear Design at H&M
As the season develops, Blank Staples will become a blank canvas for collaborations, with global creatives making their own mark on the collection in limited edition drops. Each Blank Staples piece will come with a blank label, along with the core logo designed by Highsnobiety that plays on traditional care labels. It’s a logo with symbols that tell the story of the collection and the ethos behind Blank Staples.
We were lucky to speak with Ross Lydon, Head of Menswear Design at H&M and Highsnobiety’s Founder and CEO David Fischer, to learn more about this new focused collection.

What does this new partnership with Highsnobiety mean to you?
We are really happy to finally launch this collection in collaboration with Highsnobiety. We’ve worked together with them around the campaign and concept which has been so exciting given that they have been a great inspiration for us and many others throughout the years. I can’t wait to share this with our customers and the HS audience.
What are some key pieces from the collection that you think are a must in every man’s wardrobe?
What I love about the Blank staples collection is that the products are stylistically strong enough to stand alone or they can serve as the foundation for a modern wardrobe. Personally, I’m a big fan of the long sleeve sweater in brown but I wouldn’t say no to the joggers in the beige colorway either.
What was it like working with David Fischer? Any memorable collaborative moments that you can share with us?
It’s been a great journey working with David and the entire team at Highsnobiety. I think we have inspired each other immensely throughout this time, just the way of doing things and how the creativity has flowed between us and HS. At the moment we are very excited to launch our new Blank Staples collection but we look forward to giving you more news on collaborations at a later stage, stay tuned!
How does the Blank Staples speak to the H&M loyal customer?
With the Blanks Staples collection, we really want to highlight and put emphasize to the importance of essential everyday wear, something we know our customer is looking for. At the same time, we’re thrilled to give our fans a blank canvas to put their personal style and creativity to the garments should they wish to do so.
CEO and Founder of HighSnobeity David Fischer
What’s it like partnering up with H&M?
One does not often work with partners of the scale of H&M, while being open-minded and excited about innovation as well. Also thinking beyond the garment itself and creating the collection as a true platform that will allow H&M to associate itself with the next generation of creators, is what really got us excited.
What does this mean to you and Highsnobiety?
We are super excited about this partnership, as it ultimately allowed us to bring our sensitivity to style, trends and quality to a global H&M audience. The first launch is the very beginning of a great journey that we are going on together, to turn the Blank Staples collection into the creative platform that it was intended to become.
What are some design details that distinguish this collection and make it stand out?
The Blank Staples range by H&M is a fantastic line-up of everyday garments in high-quality fabrics that are versatile and easy to integrate into any wardrobe. No logos, no loud branding, high-quality fabrics and a fit that makes it possible for any man to dress it up or down makes the collection a great daily companion. It’s practical, modern, minimal and timeless.
Do you have any favorite pieces from the collection? How would you style them?
The t-shirt especially is such an important item and platform in our world, and we wanted to make sure that we create the very best together with H&M. From the fit to the dry fleece fabric and of course the beautiful range of colors, we can safely say that we have created one of the very best Staples ranges on the market with a price that one could only have dreamed of before.
The H&M Blank Staples collection will be available starting September 3 online at kw.hm.com and at H&M in the First Avenue – The Avenues, Grand Avenue – The Avenues and The Forum – The Avenues.
