Did you know that there are over 300 million downloads for sleep assistance apps globally since 2016?; and that 200 years ago, the average hours a human slept was 7-9. Today, the average person sleeps between 5-7 hours. IKEA are aware of the very important, very real benefits to people when they get more quality sleep. Sleeping better reduces stress and improves the immune system. It affects every area of our daily life, from health to relationships and productivity.
IKEA celebrated the release of their new catalogue by inviting everyone to a huge pajama party at their showroom. Experts and gurus gave attendants tips for better sleep hygiene and habits that could improve the quality of their slumber. The Swedish furniture giant is committed to connecting people to simple and smart solutions that solve real challenges. They also took the event as an opportunity to share their sleep manifesto which we think everyone can benefit from.
The IKEA Sleep manifesto:
What the world needs now is more sleep, sweet sleep. So, we stand before you, in our comfiest pajamas, to proudly declare that we believe in:
- Earlier bedtimes for all.
- Sleeping in, guilt-free.
- Freedom to snuggle under a very cozy comforter
- The power of a power nap (and blackout blinds).
- More time for lullabies and bedtime stories.
- A mattress so great that you miss it when you go on vacation.
- That getting a good night’s sleep will absolutely improve your life.
- And, that you – and your home – can make it happen….
…Starting tonight!!
