You remember those word association games you played as a child? Somebody would say one word and you’d have to spit out the first word that popped in your head. You know; foot – ball, pillow – fight, French – fries. I suppose you could figure out what kind of a kid I was from my responses, even though I edited the last one.
Anyway, let’s try a couple:
Cigars?
Cuban?
Cuban Cigars. You can’t say one of these words without thinking immediately of the other. If you’re going to smoke a cigar it has to be Cuban and if you visit Cuba you have to smoke a cigar.
La Casa Del Habano brings a little piece of Cuba (and a lot of cigars) to Kuwait. Located at Al-Sawani Center and Kuwait International Airport, these cigar lounges are authorized franchises of Habanos SA, the company that oversees promotion, distribution, and export of Cuban cigars and other tobacco products worldwide.
The Walk-in Humidor is the heart of every La Casa Del Habano. This is where you can find every Habanos cigar available on the market presented and stored under perfect conditions of humidity and temperature. You can drop by and purchase quantities of 10, 25, or 50 (or multiples thereof) if you know what you want, or if you prefer to peruse the cigars and sample them, a vendor, with in-depth expertise on every cigar, is on hand to answer any query you may have.
Think of La Casa Del Habano like a home away from home, the perfect place to enjoy your cigar with like-minded people in privacy and comfort. Rich wooden display cabinets and sumptuous leather seating make this the ideal environment to relax and savour your cigar of choice.
For the truly discerning customer, a locked humidor known as ‘The Vault’ is available to store your personal cigars in a locked security box, under optimum conditions and supervision of personnel responsible for each cigar. La Casa Del Habano also sells a range of products for the cigar aficionado to enrich their smoking experience; hand-made humidors, cigar cutters, ashtrays, all in classic and modern designs.
That AlSalasil guarantees that all cigars sold in their lounges and outlets in Kuwait are 100% Cuban. They are the only licensed Habanos Cuban Cigar reseller in Kuwait and have been for 20 years. They offer 33 Habanos brands including:
Cohiba
This is THE Cuban Cigar. Once only available outside Cuba to heads of state and dignitaries, the Cohiba was created in 1966 for Fidel Castro himself and produced at the then top-secret but now world famous, El Laguito Factory. The name Cohiba comes from an ancient Taino Indian word for tobacco and the bunches of tobacco leaves that Columbus first saw being smoked by the original inhabitants of Cuba. These were the earliest known form of cigar.
Montecristo
Perhaps the best known and most appreciated Habanos brand worldwide, the Montecristo is named after Alexandre Dumas’ novel The Count of Monte Cristo, which was a favorite of the Torcedores (cigar rollers) when being read to on the rolling floor (a common practice, lectors would read aloud to the rollers for entertainment, this idea is believed to have originated in Cuba and still exists today). Montecristo’s perfectly balanced blend is created exclusively with selected leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region, home of the finest tobaccos in the world.
Partagas
At 520 Industria St in the heart of Havana lies the Partagas factory where they have been making cigars since 1845. The cigar is recognizable for its deep, earthy flavor and the factory, now a popular tourist destination, is famous for legendarily introducing the first lectors to read to the Torcedores.
Romeo y Julieta
Sir Winston Churchill was this brand’s most famous smoker. Named after Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers, the brand became popular around the world after Jose “Pepin” Rodriguez Fernandez acquired the brand, subsequently travelling Europe and America entering his horse, Julieta, in racing events and promoting the brand.
Hoyo de Monterrey
“Hoyo” literally means “hole” and in this case describes the low-lying position of the plantation on the fertile banks of San Juan y Martinez River. The flavor of Hoyo de Monterrey’s blend makes it an attractive choice for those who seek a delicate yet aromatic Habano that is lighter to the taste but with great elegance and complexity.
