Kickstarting the New Year in full gear, January is always that one month of the year that is jam-packed with exciting events. The weather is perfectly pleasant for outdoor cafes and leisurely walks, and Kuwait’s ambience is transformed with excitement with the anticipated celebratory month of February. Outdoor activities, including biking, cycling, and much more are aplenty. In appropriately blaring full-throttle, the annual bike show organized by Harley Davidson is undoubtedly the spectacle of the year for many Harley fans and motorcycle enthusiasts, giving outsiders an extraordinary demonstration of the true motorcycle culture behind the Harley crew, as well as provide a better understanding of the characters of the individualistic riders.
Organized by Harley Davidson, the annual bike show, taking place on the 27th of January, will unite all Harley Davidson owners across the Gulf in one venue to compete on various fronts, and put on the best bike show yet that will only impress. Holding the show at the popular shopping destination that is Marina Mall, bikers will compete and will be judged in a total of fourteen categories, including: Best Softail – FX, best Softail – FX Custom, best Softail – FL, best Softail –FL Custom, best Dyna, best Dyna Custom, best Sportster, best Sportster Custom, best Touring, best Touring Custom, best V-Rod, best V-Rod Custom, best Paint Job, best CVO. Arriving in Kuwait for this fascinating celebration, the bikers from different areas across the Gulf include trendy, sophisticated and savvy entrepreneurs and company executives, all, true adventurers seeking that extra thrill in life that is brought on by the annual bike show. First prize winners, and first runner ups, in every category are each going to be granted a special gift, and other participants will also be gifted an assortment of goodies upon their arrival, such as t-shirts, caps, and promotional giveaways.
Prior to the competition, Harley Davidson will also be holding an Open House for all the visiting and local attendees at the Harley Davidson Showroom in Shuwaikh. Not only so, Marina Mall is hosting a grand bike gallery two weeks prior to the event to get us, locals, all excited and revved up for the big event. During the actual competition, a special panel of judges, including many VIPS and dignitaries, will be present to judge the bikes in the different categories. More than a hundred bikes will be on display, and only a select few will move forward to compete in the specified categories.
So, come the 26th, prepare early and pick your spot by any of the hot spots on the Gulf Road, and watch the bikers ride towards Marina Mall and back to the Seif Strip. The 27th will be even more enticing, as a full police escort is expected to block the route to Marina Mall so that the bikers could avoid traffic and fire up those engines for a magnificent display. Once at Marina Mall for the final competition, bystanders will enjoy the energetic vibes by the select DJ, as the bikers will be competing for 1st place all throughout the day until 5 p.m. when the judges announce the winners.
