Shurooq Qabazard, a young mother of two, fell in love with the Cookie Dough concept store when she first visited the flagship boutique while on a trip to Beirut. Not only did she wish to represent the brand in Kuwait, she saw herself in every aspect of the store’s amazing design and brand ethos. A Beirut-based multibrand concept store founded by Yasmine Agha, Cookie Dough boasts a wide range of designer children’s wear, accessories and furniture. The Kuwait edition promises nothing less than luxury for the little ones.
Shurooq tells us more about the special concept; “Cookie Dough has created a safe haven for mothers and children. From the selection of brands on offer, the store’s design and decoration, to the activities and educational opportunities they organize in-store, I knew that I came upon something entirely different, and immediately saw myself representing the store in Kuwait.” Shurooq felt that young mothers, like her, need to dive headfirst when it comes to learning and leading their journey in motherhood. “It’s never easy, yet this makes it all the more worthwhile. Every mother will find her own path, and Cookie Dough easily offers this opportunity in an elegant, chic and more importantly, accessible manner.”
Located in Shuwaikh Market, a quiet location budding with unique concept stores, Shurooq saw a perfect fit, as she didn’t wish for Cookie Dough to be anywhere mainstream. She explains that as opposed to over-crowded malls, mothers who visit Cookie Dough have the opportunity to relax and experience this beautiful part of being a mother—shopping for beautiful pieces for those little ones.
The store is adorned with gorgeous garments for little boys and girls, ages 0-12 years, specialist furniture brands like Bloom Baby and Baby Arredi, as well as many other pretty little things. Mothers have a place to stop by, hang out and educate themselves about the different brands available. Shurooq is extremely passionate about the concept; not only does she intend to stay true to the Beirut-born concept store, she wishes to educate all of her clients about what Cookie Dough has to offer. She personally uses the products, and raves about how the Bloom Baby range offers young mothers practical yet aesthetically pleasing furniture solutions. The chic, modern line of furniture offers items such as adjustable and portable baby cots (that Shurooq personally swears by for those weekend family gatherings) and even a funky high chair-turned-bar stool! For furniture purchases Shurooq recommends that clients book appointments for a consultation session to see Cookie Dough’s range of products in a relaxed manner. She explains, “It’s always all about the baby, and more importantly what’s more useful for the baby and user-friendly for the parents, which I like to take care of personally.” The best part is that you’ll usually find Shurooq at the store, tending to clients’ requests, or simply relaxing with her children as she oversees the day-to-day operations at Cookie Dough. She doesn’t mind if clients simply stop by for a cup of tea, to browse and appreciate the fine range of products on offer.
As for the brands and styles available, every imaginable look or trend is on display. Tutu dresses, to make every young darling be the ballerina she dreams of becoming, fancy tuxedos for little groomsmen, awesome biker jackets and much more. We saw itsy bitsy high-top shoes, sequined flats, and swanky espadrilles that children will love to wear. Every style-savvy mommy will want to shop here, and moreover, every little one will have a great time picking and choosing items according to their own tastes! Brands include Pale Cloud and Simple Kids (both exclusively available at Cookie Dough), Tutu Du Monde, Aletta and Anniel amongst many others. For special occasions, mothers will be delighted to see that Cookie Dough also stocks Nicki Macfarlene, the incredible mother and daughter designer duo that designed Kate Middleton’s bridesmaid dresses. These lovely gowns are available upon client orders and private appointments, and Cookie Dough has an array of sample dresses, and fabric look books on display for little flower girls.
Currently in store is the winter collection, offering pieces suited for layering, and Shurooq is expecting an incredible collection of spring arrivals this month!
