Current IJSBA Jet Ski World Series champion Mohammed Burbayea will enter into the 2022 tournament to defend his title for a third time in a row. In order to do so, he will need to become the overall points leader by the end of the year, and maintain a solid performance at three individual tournaments to remain competitive enough to bring the championship title home to Kuwait.
He recently won in the Pro Runabout Grand Prix in 2021, resulting in him successfully defending his championship twice in as many tournaments.
Following a post-tournament press Q & A in Thailand, Burbayea was already excited to try again. “I would love to return next year and defend my title for a third time.” He said.
Since then Mohammed Burbayea has returned home to be with his family, and plan ahead for the 2022 Jet Ski World Series. He prides himself on representing his home country, and relies heavily on his team during every global race he competes in. In fact, the entirety of his team is 100% Kuwaiti, and are the best at what they do.
Mohammed Burbayea is aware that being the title holder means that there will be even more pressure on him this year than the last. But as with all of his attempts over the course of his professional career, his one goal is always to best himself first and foremost, which means giving it his all on race day.
Upcoming Jet Ski World Series 2022 Tournament Schedule
The first continent for the jet skiers will be Europe, with the Eurofinals, going from July 19 until July 24. The idyllic village of Ostrów Warcki, Poland, is the decided venue for this event, and athletes who have previously participated will be glad to know that nothing has been changed for this year either. This will be only the first hurdle towards a third championship for Burbayea, as two more major tournaments will follow.
After the Eurofinals, the Jet Ski World Series moves to the American continent with the 41st IJSBA Jet Ski World Finals running October 1 to 9, 2022. The World Finals take off at Lake Havasu, Arizona, USA. The lake is famous all over the United States during the warmer seasons for its tremendous aquatic activities and numerous major events.
Everything will lead the athletes and their teams to Pattaya, Thailand. They will need to bring everything they have left for one last push to the Asian TJSBA King’s Cup, for the World Series Finals. This is scheduled for December 14 to 18, 2022.
There can be no doubt that this impressive three-phase championship will be one for the ages.
Mohammed Burbayea is a 25-time IJSBA Champion, a 3-time Guinness World Record holder for most wins, and a proud Kuwaiti National. He lives and trains in his home country of Kuwait.
The IJSBA Jet Ski World Series is a year-long, triple-continent tournament, where the best athletes converge to compete in various categories for the glory and extreme challenge that this prestigious championship provides.
