How did you get into the food industry?
We started our journey into the food and beverage industry in late 2011, with a Middle Eastern restaurant concept aimed at creating a menu with a genuine taste of home, which we were eager to share.
What do you love the most about your current job?
We enjoy the creative aspect of it, which ranges from creating recipes all the way to food photography.
What is the most unusual local ingredient that you’ve used in cooking? And how do you use it?
It has to be our date sugar, made from local dates. We use it to naturally sweeten one of our signature home-ground chocolates.
Outside of brands you work with, where is your favorite place to eat?
Be Café.

If you could create a food fad what would it be and why?
Fond’s vegan cheesecake! The taste is uncannily close to its dairy counterpart!
What has been the most positive change in the local food scene?
The ease of ordering and receiving food.
What do you think will be the biggest food trend of 2020? And why?
Maybe vegan mock meats, because the market is booming with so many products that are similar to animal meat in taste and texture.
