When schools were shut down in February no one could imagine what was to come, therefore academic institutions and students alike were equally unprepared. The changes were too quick for anyone to react to properly so everyone just hustled, wrapping up the academic year. Lucky for us MUJI has always been there for us when it comes to getting ready for back-to-school.
We already know that for at least the first half of the year students will be relying on distance learning. Understandably there are numerous challenges which will need to be dealt with by the professionals but any student can do their part by preparing their space to be as conducive to learning as much as possible.
Stationery
You should already have your laptop, internet connection and software sorted out by now, but you’re not done yet. Just because everything will be delivered digitally, that doesn’t mean you don’t
need stationery. You still need to write out notes and outline on paper. According to a research study by Pam Mueller and Daniel Oppenheimer, “Students who took notes on laptops performed worse on conceptual questions than students who took notes longhand.”
Writing down important points, ideas and outlines can really help you internalize new information that you learn. Keeping a journal or a written todo list can also help you stay organized. Classify contents and sort your notes easily with the Set of 5 Planting Tree Paper Notebooks.
You can choose from a range of notebooks, sticky notes, sharpeners, scissors, organizers, calculators, digital clocks, desk storage, pen cases, pouches, files & file boxes, lunch boxes and backpacks. MUJI stationery is designed based on the ideology that everyone can freely mold them into different solutions for their own unique requirements regardless of age, occupation or personal style. You are now ready to conquer academia!
Storage
A messy desk is not going to help you learn. Organizing your space will help declutter your thoughts. Making sure that everything has a special place but is still easily accessible without having to get up and look for it, can be tricky. We love the acrylic storage solutions at MUJI because we can see where things are but they are still stored away when we don’t need them.
Essential oils
Focusing in a classroom can be a challenge, focusing while your bed is in your line of sight might be impossible. Ever since Marcel Proust wrote about the link between scents and memories, researchers have delved deeper into the topic. We now know that the Proust Effect is real and supported by scientific evidence. Not only can your nose be the way to remembering things, some specific scents can even help you concentrate better.
You can find different diffusers at MUJI, but our favorite one for studying is the USB powered portable version. You don’t have to worry about filling it with water, or spilling near your laptop. There’s a wide range of essential oils that will help you focus deeper and better. Peppermint, sweet orange, spearmint, rosemary and lemon are among our favorites. And once you are done, you can chill to some lavender scent so you can relax and get your brain ready for a new day.
Comfy clothing
Now that your desk and ambience have been prepped, there is only one last thing left. Your outfit. Spending the whole day in your PJs is out of the question. You need to look smart to start acting smart, but without sacrificing comfort.
We love MUJI’s fashion collections because they are always made of natural and breathable fibers like linen and cotton. The neutral colors and loose fits won’t distract you from calculus or creative writing. Just pop on a linen dress or wide legged pants, and a T-shirt, top off with fashionably framed blue light glasses and now you are Zoom class ready.
