The Promenade Ice Skating Team once again proved their mettle at Skate Bangkok 2023, held from December 7th to 10th. Led by Head Coach Nurul Ayinie Sulaeman and Coach Ronald Maboloc, this skating ensemble showcased exemplary teamwork, skill, and camaraderie throughout the competition.
The team comprised a diverse group of talented skaters, each bringing their unique strengths and perspectives to the ice. Participants as young as seven years old displayed remarkable dedication and sportsmanship in their performances, contributing to the team’s collective success.
The team’s remarkable performance secured them the 11th place among 26 competing teams from eleven countries. Throughout the event, the team participated in fifty-six events, culminating in an impressive collection of sixteen gold, twelve silver, fourteen bronze, ten fourth-places, and four fifth-placed medals.
The Promenade Ice team prides itself on the strong bond and unity within the group. It is in this regard that all the team members and coaches shared how they felt about the team and their performance in the competition.
Reema Alqenaie (9) expressed appreciation for the team’s support, emphasizing their positive response even in the face of challenges.
Jana Saleh Aljouhar (11) cherished the heartwarming gestures of her teammates, highlighting the encouragement received after her routines.
Zainah Albader (11) echoed sentiments of unity, emphasizing the unwavering support and camaraderie that defined the team’s spirit.
Yousef Roy (7) fondly recalled the joy of supporting teammates and relishing the performances while also enjoying the moments amidst the competition.
Leila Almosawi (13) resonated with the shared passion and mutual encouragement within the team, acknowledging the uplifting atmosphere.
Rayan Alqenaie (15) cherished the connections forged and the supportive environment fostered among teammates.
Talia Albader (11) emphasized the familial atmosphere within the team, noting the immense support and helpfulness that transcended mere teamwork.
Laila Roshdy (10) described the ethereal feeling of being on the ice with her team, encapsulating the magical essence of the competition.
Alzain Hamshari (13) shared her journey, emphasizing the team’s pivotal role in her success. Her triumphs, coupled with the team’s unwavering support, transformed her approach to skating, fostering a newfound determination.
Head Coach Ayinie commended the team’s dedication and unity, acknowledging their inspiring work ethic and close-knit relationships. Coach Ronald emphasized the team’s foundation built on respect, trust, and care for one another.
The journey to success involved meticulous preparation, including adherence to competition rules, choreography, outfit selection, and continuous practice sessions both on and off the ice. The coaches provided unwavering support, fostering a nurturing environment for the skaters to thrive.
The team, currently comprising 75 skaters, welcomes beginners and advanced participants, fostering growth and excellence within its ranks. For those inspired to venture onto the ice, the team offers private lessons and beginner camps led by experienced figure skating coaches.
