Our favorite IT girl and blogger Jacqui has come out with her annual Ramadan show timetable. The gargantuan effort is always well appreciated because it makes it easier for everyone to find their favorite show. Most shows are aired on multiple channels and then repeated again. Jacqui’s work makes it easier to find the best time for you.

It’s already been a week, but we are still undecided on which Rama-dramas to commit to watching. It is because we are terrible millennials who have gotten so accustomed to having so many choices that we can’t choose anymore. But in our defense, we have been bitten before. Start a show, watch for a few days, become invested and then the story takes a nosedive. Or in some cases, the immense number of ads just puts us off watching a complete episode.
But to be honest, every year, there are the mediocre shows with the repeated tropes, stereotypes and recycled story lines, but there are always some really good ones. And while we went through a couple of years of mediocre programming, there has been a recent revival in Ramadan worthy TV.
We are still going to watch anyway, while we snack on delicious Ramadan desserts and things we really don’t need to be eating at all.
This is what we are interested in so far:
What: Layali Eugenie
Why: We have something of a soft spot for period dramas. We were also blown away by Grand Hotel and The Sun Never Sets. With the same company behind the production of both series and a similar cast, we are very confident in this one. The fact that everything and everyone is pretty doesn’t hurt either.

What: Ikhtifaa
Why: Because we all know that Nelly Kareem will take us on an emotional rollercoaster that will make us hate her then eventually forgive her. We’re not really sure why though.

What: Rob3 Roumi
Why: Everyone needs a little comic relief. Like the title, it can get cheesy at times but we are enjoying it so far.

What: Al Assouf
Why: Because we are really curious to see what the comedy star Nasser Al-Qasabi will do in this social drama. We are curious about social, cultural and historical changes that went on in the early the first half of the 70’s.

What: Ma Hessat Qalam
Why: Because we love gut-wrenching drama! Not really, we are really watching for Hayat Al Fahad!

But to be really honest here, we’ll probably catch an episode of a bunch of others, wait until the end of Ramadan, ask our friends and then binge watch the ones that our friends recommend over Eid break.
