We’ve all been there. You have plenty of time on your hands, but you still want a quick and easy recipe to make, because we’ve been living in a fast paced lifestyle for so long that we don’t even know what slowing down and savoring little moments mean. Gone are the days when it was the norm for you to spend a whole day cooking, and gone are the days where cooking was only a woman’s job (that part we’re grateful for!)
With the pros and cons outlined, we present to you five recipes that will not waste the time you do have, but somehow always feel like you’re running out of.
Unlike any spaghetti you have had before, this one is baked. Which might get you thinking that it could be crusty or dry, but the special ingredients keep it soft and delicate. The cottage cheese seeps right into the dish, but can easily be substituted for ricotta for a milder taste. This delicious twist on spaghetti bolognese is so worth it!
Macaroni is cool and all, coleslaw is da bomb but both mixed in together even has us confused. However, this dish has proven to be a fan favorite with ring macaroni and the coleslaw as the stars of the show. Additions such as onions, celery, cucumber, green pepper, and chestnuts, make it crunchy and irresistable. Did you know that the term “coleslaw” comes from the Dutch word koolsla? Which means “cabbage salad.”
When one member of the family wants Italian and the other wants Mexican, compromise and make this dish. With Alfredo sauce, salsa, as well as taco seasoning, this explosion of flavors will please every taste bud. This recipe freezes really well so you can have more later.
For our vegetarian pals, we haven’t forgotten about you! This crescent zucchini pie is the ultimate combination of zucchini and cheese. With zucchini being high in overall nutrients, this tender and flaky crust makes for the perfect pie. What makes this pie taste even better is that it is ready in 20 minutes.
This dip is super easy to make and is great for snacking (or passing time). It can be enjoyed on the side of your plate or dipped in with vegetables or chips. Made with spinach, sour cream and ranch dressing, these ingredients are usually found in every household. Creamy and delicious! If you would like to put the spinach dip in a bread bowl, that is also an option!
