If you already have a copy of our latest issue, you’ll know by now that we are celebrating Earth month, and the theme of our April issue revolves around sustainability. So, when we learned that Monki just dropped their very first ever sustainable swimwear collection, we couldn’t hold our excitement on reading more about the details of the collection itself.
There have always been mixed opinions regarding recycled or sustainable clothing. It’s either praised and embraced or simply neglected and associated with a negative stigma. But, in this day and age, it should be fully welcomed, as we’ve come a long way with the technology available and the types of materials used. And Monki’s swimwear collection is a tribute to this statement. This collection marks a huge step forward for the brand’s ultimate 2030 vision and goal of providing more sustainable sources, with the increase of recycled materials.
Summer vibes
Summer feels
As the Managing Director of Monki, Jennie Dahlin Hansson says, “We are always trying to find more sustainable ways of doing fashion, It feels good to now offer swimwear made from recycled materials.” The swimwear collection is made with recycled polyester and polyamide. The material themselves come from PET bottles and production waste
The collection is full of vibrant and colorful pieces that will make you stand out during sunny beach days. It also includes an awesome retro vibe, from bold and bright prints of Leopards and citrus fruit, to nude and earthy tones of golden beige. The beauty of swimwear is that you can literally mix and match everything, small pieces are both easy to wear, and are easily matched!

You can go for an off the shoulder frills swimsuit, or a two piece bikini with perfectly cut out details. Feeling sporty at the beach? Grab a pair of shorts and get ready to play on, as the pieces are extremely comfortable and flexible for extra movements! They are also great for chilling at the beach, tanning and relaxing by the beach or the pool.
We can honestly say that Monki’s swimwear collection is serving us more than just typically refreshing, summer vibes, as it’s a tribute to promote sustainable and recycled clothing. This, in and of itself is a subject that is bigger than all of us, and Monki
