When we ran a review on the released Modern Signatures menu at Mais Alghanim, we were also excited to know that a new section of the menu has been added. While we all know and love Mais Alghanim for serving up yummy, Lebanese food, their addition of a modern signatures menu that is inspired by dishes from all around the world, as well as an entirely new vegan menu, completes their range of offerings.
The menu starts off with salads, which is served here with a variety of twists. These include the Kale Fattoush, Date Avocado Salad, Cauliflower Tabbouleh, and the Rocket Sundried Tomato Salad. Each salad is different with its own identity and flavor profile, so our tip is to pick your favorite, whether it’s Tabbouleh or Fattoush, and then choose which of the innovative ingredients you’d prefer to try out in these updated salad creations.
Other dishes also include Aloo Samosa, a traditional, and crunchy vegetable Samosa with green chutney sauce. Plus, there are two types of Kibbeh on the menu. One is the Eggplant Kibbeh. Not your usual meat kibbeh, it includes fried eggplant, formed into kibbeh, with pomegranate molasses. The second one is basically a soft mashed potato, with walnuts and kibbeh spices beautifully presented in a quantity where you can have more than one piece of kibbeh.
When you’re at Mais Alghanim, it’s practically impossible to resist not ordering their amazing vine leaves, but this new vegan menu, this classic is introduced with two more similar items. The mixed Dolma includes stuffed zucchini and cabbage rolls, and both go amazingly well with vine leaves. Mujadara is also another item for vegans to indulge in, prepared with mashed brown lentils and rice and topped with crispy onions.
The vegan dishes within the Modern Signatures menu include Falafel! Whether you’re vegan or not, Falafel for life is a known thing, and we can vouge for this saying from our end. Other than being crispy, they’re stuffed with onions and aromatic sumac. You can also opt for the mixed, fried veggies that include zucchini, eggplants, and cauliflower, with a side of olive oil and pomegranate sauce; there
Always leave room for dessert! As part of Mais Alghanim’s take on vegan dessert, we tried the unique Apple Compote Vermicelli and a Carob Molasses Cake.
The vegan dishes are available for everyone to try out on Mais Alghanim’s Modern Signatures menu. If you’re visiting
