It has been a year since we have had to start getting accustomed to the new norms. As mothers we have not stopped loving our children, yet are constantly finding ourselves struggling to give this love to ourselves.
It is hard at times yet it sure does help better empower ourselves as women and in return enables us to love our children more meaningfully. By doing so, we become more mindful of everything including love, in all of its forms.
Staying home to show this love may have been one of the hardest things we have all had to do yet we managed to do so. The online world showed us how mothers were able to better nurture, care for, understand as well as entertain their families during lockdown to ensure everyone’s safety came first.
This love is driven by the love for our communities and country. The ability to step up by taking a step back for the overall better being of everyone is most definitely a form of love that has been clearly applied in many households all around the world. Simply beautiful!
This act of love has helped many people around the world better understand who they are as individuals. The need to change made us all this much stronger.
Kholood Al-Harmi, is a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Coach & Practitioner certified by The American Board of NLP, also a single mother, believes that the ability to say “I need help, by expressing yourself to face your problems” is the first step of love when it comes to self-development. To feel that you love yourself enough to seek the help you may need without pretending that you can do it all is exactly how she started her journey with wellbeing.
Before becoming a life coach, she faced many hardships that made her feel rather helpless at the time. She understood that she needed help yet was very unsure as to what she needed to do to start this new journey.
She realized that there is always room for self-development and improvement so she got herself into that mindset because that was the only way she believed she was to help herself become a better more focused mother to her only daughter, especially because she is a single mother. That by itself gave her the extra nudge she needed.
She learned that sometimes one sentence can have the power to guide you into the path you have been looking for. Khoolod’s path was made clearer when she was told that, “children need one human being that loves them unconditionally” which resonated with her, putting her at ease. She has since learned that the power of positive words does give her the motivation to propel more into self-love to better be able to share this love with her family as well as her clients.
She continuously works towards aligning her mind, body and soul by creating her own sense of security to be the best version of herself on a daily basis through mothering her own inner child as well as envisioning the best version of herself as a woman, mother, coach and daughter. Such an inspiration she is!
Because she is a firm believer in the magical power of feminine energy, she tries to apply her teachings, techniques and methods when parenting her daughter. Allowing her ten-year-old to freely express who she is through exploring her likes and dislikes. Finding love in the simplest of matters. In addition to her love for dance, sports, movement and reading. This has made more room for them both to always seek finding balance in their day-to-day activities.
In return, this balance has helped them both receive love from one another, unconditionally, in a more peaceful, calmer manner.
It is commonly known that masculine energy is more action-oriented than that of the feminine energy which is why Kholood works toward balancing this energy for both herself and her daughter by balancing it with the calmness that is driven from the feminine energy we all carry within us. Being more aware of receiving love as well as nurturing our children by constantly listening to herself.
We can all start balancing our energies through a number of different tactics which may include better listening to our inner voices to better understand ourselves. Just that one little observation may and can shift your focus. This shift in focus will open numerous doors that with time as well as practice will release any build-up tension as we march forward toward a more joyous journey filled with love.
