To start this new chapter of wellness after everything we have had to go through may seem somewhat too much, possibly even out of this world. Having recently met this new world.
This is a new era that we are all currently living in; the future we have shaped and the history we are making. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we start this new chapter of wellness together.
There has been a global hype with regards to how we should all feel at specific points in time. Sometimes even pressuring us into feeling emotions that we may not necessarily understand nonetheless we at times also tend to forget to focus on the importance of understanding who we are before even realizing how we feel let alone why. This hype has correlatedly increased through the digital connection we have created with one another via the global village most people are part of, the internet.
Working from home, online schooling, remote meetings, zoom calls and conferences are all but some of the new norms we all had to work with. An adaptation that has required making new adjustments in order for us to continue growing before better understanding this new norm, if we can even call it that. Everything got shifted around, and we had to roll with it.
From that very shift, I find myself starting this wholeness corner to better understand where we stand as mothers, and most importantly where we stand with ourselves. Because for us to be well, or to live with wellness in mind, there are three crucial factors that need to be aligned to grasp the idea of wellbeing before living in wellness.
Your mind, body and soul need to understand, feel and feed off of your true essence. From there you will be able to work towards a more ‘fit’ you for yourself, your family and others around you.
When it comes to the mind, “What I Know for Sure” by Oprah Winfrey is an all-time classic that will open your mind to a new way of understanding intention through understanding yourself in any given phase in your life.
And here is one of my favorite ‘body’ hacks, water wipes for babies! Water Wipes are made of 99.9% water and contain no chemicals whatsoever. They soothe the skin and are perfect for adults and children alike. While you’re at it, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water too.
As for the soul, the simplest acts of self-love make a world of a difference. Make time for yourself while enjoying a nice cup of tea, reflect, journal and most importantly Enjoy!
We all need ‘more’ for ourselves, families and others while keeping our intentions purely intact with who we really are at any given point in time. Rather than simply looking ahead and wishing, this point in time is just as important.
The concept of giving more to ourselves means more love and compassion, calm, and joy to make room for more growth.
Moms that inspire: Meet Nouf Al-Moawed, @Triplets.of.kuwait
Nouf, a mother of four lovely children is also a full-time working mother who has been sharing her motherhood journey online since the premature birth of her triplets. She also focuses on how she includes all of her children in different family activities, strengthening their family bond while giving new meaning to positive parenting.
Nouf’s will to combat the challenges she faced is an inspiration. In the midst of all the setbacks and struggles she has had to face as a new mother, she emerged stronger than ever and her account is a joy to follow. She is creating more family time, creatively learning through play and enjoying outdoor family walks and talks in sunny Kuwait.
Most recently, she has had to face a dilemma that most moms are facing: Screen Time overload. This is when she decided to be more flexible with herself, which in turn gave her more room to creating more real time activities for her family to enjoy together. In doing so, she actually managed to decrease screen time for the kids. Sometimes, you have to stop fighting something in order to find a better solution.
Nouf realizes the importance of making time for herself to better reflect on who she is as a person, as well as a mother. Her new profound love for exercise has made her more committed to reaching her goal in gaining back her fitness.
The result not only looks good on her but also allows her to let go of any feelings of guilt or suffocation that may have set her back prior to her better understanding what she needs at this very point where she aligned herself; mind, body & soul to help motivate her better reach her goal. She never fails to inspire us!
