We’ve always known that Elevation Burger is about delivering an alternative to unhealthy junk food. Their grass-fed beef burgers are as tasty as they are healthy. We at bazaar love that we can get our burger fix guilt free!
As if it wasn’t enough already that they serve up burgers of 100% USDA-certified organic, 100% grass-fed, 100% free-range beef, 100% ground-on-promises and hand-cut fries fried in 100% heart-healthy olive oil, and use environmentally sustainable architectural finishes and equipment, now they are opening up their kitchens to the youth of Kuwait!
Teaming up with LOYAC, the youth organization that educates, encourages and supports young Kuwaitis in hope of creating the leaders of tomorrow and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Elevation are giving young people the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in various positions across the company.
Abdulaziz Al-Dughaishem is responsible for relieving you of your hard-earned cash in exchange for your burger and fries. He learned fast and can easily keep up with the onslaught of hungry customers that have become a familiar sight at Elevation Burger at The Avenues.
Sarah Al-Bloushi and Anwar Al-Hamad are working at the head office in the marketing department and are responsible for a highly important task, which we will try to help out with right here too. Through social media and social networking they have to let the Elevation faithful know that The Avenues location will be closed for the next three to four months due to finishing construction on Phase III.
Before you blow a fuse though, fear not. If you didn’t know, and you probably do as the LOYAC girls have been telling everybody, Elevation recently opened a new location at Al-Hamra Tower.
It means that Abdulaaziz will be tending the cash register their soon too. Going along with him from The Avenues to Al-Hamra will be Nora Al-Qadhi and Jana Al-Munaifi. These girls are learning what it takes to deliver healthy, tasty food and get it out to customers fast. Hand cutting the fries proved difficult initially. But now they’ve built up sufficient muscle to make easy work out of making those fries. They rotate through the duties of the kitchen, so they know the full process from grilling burgers, frying fries and even serving the food to the customers at their tables.
For Ali Ashkanani of Elevation Burger this is all about giving back to the community. Getting young people involved, giving them something to dedicate to for six weeks through summer is his small way of contributing. The girls in the marketing department are catching on fast; they say that seeing young Kuwaitis working hard can only be a positive thing for Elevation Burger. This is the first year Elevation Burger has been involved with the LOYAC work experience program but Ali can already see this as becoming an annual initiative. For LOYAC it gives young people the opportunity to work under supervision and without judgment (as can unfortunately happen sometimes). They are checked on regularly by someone from LOYAC so this is a comfortable and safe environment to gain real life work experience.
So everyone benefits and, of course, the burgers are as tasty as ever.
