“There is an app (or a dozen) for that!” is probably the most cliché phrase right now. We are always on the lookout for the next new app that will be our magic genie and fix our reallife problems. And we have very little loyalty or tolerance towards dysfunctional, slow or clunky software. And when it comes to food delivery, the app itself needs to be responsive, easy to use and offer more than everyone else.
That is even before we start considering the selection of restaurants and other service that we are looking for. Let’s face it, pleasing “hangry” customers is not easy.
Zitaat, a relatively new player in the food delivery app arena, has already carved a space for itself among the older players. Let’s get real, it is not really about ordering food.
We’ve been able to do that since restaurants started installing phone lines at their premises. We can all pick up the phone, dial and deal with a customer service rep or receptionist to get our favorite bespoke pizza, weird choices for toppings included.
But this is why I love Zitaat. I don’t need to trawl through a long list of mediocre restaurants. The offerings feel curated, local and relevant. Craving biryani, nigiri or both, you will find it. And you will only find the good stuff.
Getting from hungry to full is easy too. There used to be a time when software developers counted the clicks it took to perform a single task and kept it to a minimum. Most developers have stopped caring, but Zitaat have kept it old-school
and it takes less taps to order.
All you have to do next is sit back and obsessively track it until it gets to your door. The dynamic tracking is impressive! I love feeling like an undercover secret agent secretly following an important asset being delivered to me.
They also offer the only point-based rewards program in Kuwait. For every KD you spend you collect points. The points quickly add up to money that you can use toward your next meal.
After you are done making an order, redeem your loyalty credit at checkout. No convoluted steps to dissuade you from using your points.
But if I were being really honest here, I shouldn’t be ordering pizza and burgers at 11 pm like there’s no tomorrow. I like pretending to be a grown-up so I try to stick to the healthier options.
And there is no shortage of options on Zitaat. For example, seafood from the Fish Store is my goto. I skip the rice and order grilled fish. It is the perfect protein; light, healthy and very filling.
I also love that don’t have to switch apps to find what you need. The Supermarket section is your new best friend. Fresh produce from Sadeer Farms and some steaks from Meat Chops and you have yourself a home-cooked meal that is healthy, light and enjoyable.
The only downside is having to wash the dishes. Although, I sometimes cheat and just order some frozen goodies from Adams Foods. I still put it in the oven, so it totally counts, right?
But my favorite feature of Zitaat is the Catering option. You can order in advance for your next party. Just pick a date and time in the future, order and forget about it. One less thing to handle on the day of the big event and more adult points scored.
And if you need to throw something together last minute? You still can, most restaurants will cater on the same day too.
If you haven’t tried the app yet, what are you waiting for? You can download Zitaat on the Apple or the Google App stores. Follow Zitaat on Instagram @zitaatofficial to keep up with all the cool new restaurants that are being added.
