Today, IKEA celebrates the best of life at home with its first global 24-hour festival. The IKEA Festival is live and is taking place in over 100 homes in more than 50 markets across the world, including a live stream that can be accessed anywhere but is specially celebrated in Kuwait where the event is live streaming from various locations at the IKEA Avenues store.
In a time when life at home has never been so important, IKEA will open the door to better living experiences by hosting a festival that can be experienced both online and in the IKEA store, featuring music artists, chefs, designers, and creators.
“It is undeniable that Kuwait witnessed challenging times during the past period. The pandemic gave a whole new meaning to our lives at home and connectivity with people worldwide. Now that we are entering the new post COVID era, IKEA Kuwait wants to celebrate the ‘back to normal’ life by virtually connecting Kuwait with countries all around the world in a unique event that the market didn’t experience before,” stated Mohamad Jalloul, Marketing Manager of IKEA Kuwait.
The IKEA Festival is inspired by the IKEA vision “to create a better everyday life for the many people”, and the experience is for free, open to everyone to meet artists, designers, DJ’s, chefs, and many other talents who will turn their homes into virtual stages, opening the door to new experiences. Holding a special press tour of the various IKEA Festival activations and special offers happening in-store to celebrate the festival, Mohamad Jalloul, along with Digital & Social Media Specialist at IKEA Kuwait Saad Almuaili and the IKEA team took us across various curated rooms in the store. From products on offers viewed on a touring street-market vending cart to a dedicated screening room for those special movie nights, a spot of ‘Fika’ to relax with IKEA’s delectable range of teas and biscuits, to cooking specials and more, the IKEA Festival campaign is set to redefine how we interact with our favorite lifestyle brand, in-store and online. Make sure you visit IKEA between today and the 25th of October to experience more in-store activities! “We welcome all our customers to come and visit our store to experience this special event and connect with people all around the world in a festive and healthy setting. It is time to experience the same humane experience that we all had to endure during the rough times, but now in exciting times filled with celebrations, good health, and cozy homes,” added Jalloul.
Speaking to us more about the festival, Marketing Director at IKEA Elisa Albendea explained that the IKEA Festival arrives as part of IKEA’s broader vision to change the narrative on how we interact with our home space.
“This is a new kind of experience we want to offer, celebrating, connecting and engaging around life at home. Home tours around the world will open doors to new experiences and new inspiration. We want to spark a conversation on the more sustainable and affordable life in the home of tomorrow. And just as with any festival, you can expect a few surprises. We have been working really hard to play a key role in this festival with people from Kuwait, Jordan, and Morocco.”
Watch your eyes for this space as we bring you more on IKEA’s latest in our special interview with Elisa, coming out in the October issue.
