When their very first container made its way into Jabriya, and our hearts, we were in burger bliss. Their second location at the Sea View food complex on the other hand is a beautiful, bigger addition. With quality and goodness on their minds, Container 75 fits in awesomely with Kuwait’s booming gourmet burger scene. Yet the décor of the place is true the showstopper here. We at bazaar have all wondered what it would be like to just kick back and relax inside a shipping container time and time again. Container 75 gave us the answer to that and we loved it!
As we embarked on this epic food tasting (we almost ate everything on the menu) we started with drinks. Cocktails like Apple Fusion, Mojito Havana and the Berrylicious were our choices and we were utterly blown away by them. Yummy, refreshing and fruity came to mind as we sipped on them and perused the rest of the menu in search of items to try out. Then came the appetizers and salads – an absolutely spectacular selection was presented to us. The Mozzarella Pyramids, Tex Mex Fries, Nitro Shrimp Bites and the Boneless Buffalo Chicken Wings were incredible – but our favorite had to be the Halloumi and Lemon Jam combination. The fried Halloumi cheese served with a side of sweet yet sour lemon preserve and a helping of caramelized jalapenos was perfection in a dish. As for the Caesar Salad and Berry Salad – we devoured them whole.
Once we picked our plates clean, an array of burgers appeared before us – each more delicious than the other. Different toppings make for different tastes, and their combinations were completely on point. In slider form or as a full-on mouthwatering burger, chicken, fish or beef – your options are limitless. Interesting names like Pearl Harbor, Cancun and Fry Ship graze their menu as you attempt to pick just one burger or an array of sliders – complete with fries and coleslaw. We suggest you pick out the sliders as they come in threes and swap them around with friends to get more out of it – they’re super yummy! If we had to just pick one, which is super difficult since they’re all delicious, our favorites would be the Cancun, Toledo, Pearl Harbor and Hawaiian. All made with Angus beef, premium cheeses and the freshest of ingredients, their burgers were absolutely perfect.
Next on our list of foods to try: their From the Grill section and Pastas! Their Chicken Milanese and Tenderloin steak were incredibly tasty! Fresh and premium meats with high quality ingredients are the ethos in which they cook with. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection with a beautiful truffle mushroom sauce and a creamy mash, while the chicken was golden and crispy alongside a salad drizzled with a rich mushroom sauce and a side of fries. Then there was the Mexicali King Prawns beautifully grilled and served atop a quinoa and mushroom risotto finished with rocket leaves and grated parmesan. Their pastas were equally divine – from the Volcano Lasagna made with crispy eggplant, premium ground beef and a beautifully cheesy pink sauce, to their Lemon Scaloppini with marinated chicken breast, wild mushrooms and a creamy herbed sauce. Lasagna sheets and fettuccini pastas aside, the contents of the dishes gave them a delectable flavor.
Of course we couldn’t say no to dessert! Attempting to pick and choose was a mission (we’re dessert fiends, we are!) so we picked most of them! The beautifully baked Nutella Cheesecake was incredible! An Oreo base and Nutella cream cheese topping combined together to bring us a stunning work of art. Marshmallow Nutella Brownie was no joking matter. Equal parts fudge-to Nutella-to cake, with a side of vanilla ice cream – delicious! The roasted marshmallows on top were an excellent addition to the flavour and texture of this creation. Still, what happens when you bake a cookie in a skillet? You get superbly moist and beautifully cakelike Baked Cookie Dough – topped with ice cream, because it simply makes everything better. But the dessert that caught our attention, and our hearts, was the Peanut Butter Fondant. This chocolate molten cake is a winner in our books. You break it open and the creamiest peanut butter and chocolate melt oozes out gloriously–and more ice cream on the side, yay! We were on cloud nine with this concoction. Word of advice, do not miss out on their desserts! Container 75 has perfected the art of delicious foods and decadent desserts. Dining in a container is definitely a lot more satisfying than it seems!
