Do you miss the experience of eating out, but you also prefer homemade food? We get it. Now that the weather is finally getting cooler, it’s time to start eating out, especially in restaurants with incredible outdoor seating! For a restaurant that offers you both the eating-out experience and authentic, homemade food, you’ll love eating at Amiti Noura’s Sabah Al Salem branch.
One of the many things Kuwait is famous for is its food experiences. With its ambiance, service, varied cuisines, and unique taste, the Kuwait food experience is unlike anywhere else in the world. That being said, there’s a certain charm to eating homemade food in your family home – food that even the best restaurants cannot match. Not at Amiti Noura!
Just like its authentic name, Amiti Noura’s dining experience feels like you’re eating at your favorite aunt’s house – the aunt that cooks the best food and always wants to make sure everyone is fed and full. And because we want to be fed and full, too – we paid Amiti Noura a visit!
We arrived hungry – and ready to feast! From the moment we stepped foot inside – our senses awoke. From the cozy interiors with elements of authentic Kuwaiti home decor, to the strong aromas and sizzling sounds of hot dishes served, we knew we were in for a delicious treat.
Going through the menu was no easy task – every dish looked delicious! We chose to order the Stuffed Vine Leaves, Lentil Soup, Hot Mezza Platter and the Quinoa Salad for our starters, the Machbous Chicken and Mixed Grilled Platter for our main course, and the Brownie a La Mode and Lgaimat for dessert.
The Stuffed Vine Leaves steamed in pomegranate molasses were incredibly tasty and cooked to perfection, they melted in our mouths! The Lentil Soup with toasted cumin seeds was the best choice for the cooler weather – every sip was packed with flavor. The soup paired well with the Quinoa Salad! The combination of black quinoa, jareesh, pomegranate molasses, and bhujai was a hit. The zesty salad was vibrant, and distinctively flavored, it tasted like a Tabouleh with a twist. The Hot Mezza Platter offered a selection of cheese and vegetable sambusa, meat and potato kubbah with our personal favorite, khobz eroug, we were hooked; the sizzling platter was slightly spicy and exceptionally authentic.
We quickly devoured the starters, savoring in every bite, but knowing that the main dishes were soon to come. Soon after, we were served the Machbous Chicken and daqous – and it instantly felt like home. The fragrant and glossy rice topped with caramelized onion, split chickpeas, and raisin hashou was delicious, and the chicken? Succulent. One bite of chicken and rice with the daqous sauce will have you reminisce those days, sitting at the dinner table with all your family. The Mixed Grilled Platter came soon after, with a selection of lamb chops, lamb kabab, and shish taouk served with garlic sauce and fries. The lip-smacking platter was perfectly spiced, juicy, and tender.
We were full, but we knew we didn’t want to stop, because no family evening is complete without dessert. The Lgaimat reminded us of Ramadan nights with its strong saffron taste and crunchy texture. As for the Brownie a La Mode – we were surprised with how well a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and pistachio garnish complimented the ultra-soft and decadent brownie. The blend of textures, tastes, and contrasting temperatures made it the perfect ending to a divine feast.
