For the first time ever in Kuwait, H&M Home opens its door to the public proving that, as our closets change with the seasons, so can our homes. H&M believes that your home deserves the same fashionable treatment by offering a whole new collection of décor accessories, stylish bedding, dining room dressing, dinnerware sets, table tops and kitchen linens, bathroom accessories, charming cushions, scented candles and entertaining adornments.
The H&M collection is divided into different concepts and rooms: living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. In doing so, H&M Home unites interiors and design with a wide range of fashionable textiles and materials.
As the temperature drops, our homes become instantly cozier with soft throw blankets, and with the arrival of the holiday season, the H&M Home Holiday 2016 collection has created items to become treasured parts of your favorite holiday traditions and provide the perfect setting for creating new memories in the most fashionable of ways.
This holiday season, it’s all about mixing and blending contrasting materials, combining different color pairings and, above all, achieving a mix between natural and glamorous aesthetics.
“H&M Home is natural and festive this holiday season and it’s all about mixing – to pair the raw with something glamourous. Combining wood with metals, unbleached linen with glitter and heavy knits with sequins gives a traditional yet modern feel. The mood is warm and inviting while black adds drama as dark winter skies sprinkled with stars set the tone,” says Evelina Kravaev Söderberg, Head of Design at H&M Home.
As for Evelina’s favorite items from the collection, she says that “There are many. I particularly love the mix of gold, white and black, like the Christmas ornaments. The gold-weaved jacquards are also a favorite. And also the black, like the stone embroideries and print with star scatterings.”
THE COLORS: Combining natural with glamorous is a key trend, like coupling off-white shades with sparkling gold and antique silver or pairing a palette of dark greys with deep ruby red. A touch of black adds drama as the night sky inspires.
THE MATERIALS: Mixing is essential – grouping different types of metals together or pairing wood and concrete with metals, or natural linens with sequins. New types of knits also enter the scene, with jacquards and crafted influences as a key trend. H&M Home also introduces comfortable and sophisticated loungewear in a cashmere mix material.
THE SYMBOLS: The night sky is a source of inspiration, with stars and the moon as key symbols. Minimalistic fonts offer a new take on art deco while the inspiration from the outdoors shows through pine trees and wild animals. Humor is always present at H&M Home and this season, tropical animals in a holiday-setting like a cheetah with red ribbons on a pillow make for the perfect cheeky home accessory.
THE MOOD: The mix between natural and festive gives a warm and inviting mood. There is also a splash of drama with more somber colors like darker shades of gray and black. And of course the party-mode is on, with luxurious glamor and sparkling details.
